At present we have late seating, so do we need to dress up before going to the early show?. What is the usual dress attire as I imagine the late show will be full of dressed up people finishing early seating dinner. Or is that not the case and it is more relaxed?, what did other people do?. This will help with my packing list and knowing how much time we need to get ready for the shows. Oh another question, what is the length of the shows?, that would be helpful info too!

We dressed casual and then went back to our room to change before dinner(745 seating). We had plenty of time since the shows were about an hour in length. I recommend bringing a sweater with you into the theater, it gets COLD!!!

My DW and I were on a 7 day in January with late dining. We would dress for dinner and then go to the show. There were also people in shorts, casual, alittle of everything.
You would fit in no matter how you go.

Although it seems that anything goes and you probably won't feel out of place no matter how you dress (I'm assuming you're not thinking tank tops and cut offs for the diningroom however) here is our two cents worth.

You don't want to be so dressed up that you're so uncomfortable you're thinking only of your clothes and nothing else. But short of that getting dressed for dinner and theater is part of the fun!

I mean how often do most of us in our daily lives do this? Ok, in reality how often do we actually sit down to dinner with our families in our daily lives!;)

Dressing can be part of the experience and "show" for you and your fellow cruisers. DH and I often stayed "dressed" after dinner for the evening events we took part in. Almost like dating again! Remember how you took special consideration of what you were going to wear? DD also tended to stay dressed up. DS sometimes did and sometimes didn't - depended on what he was doing.

So don't overpack, but consider getting into the fantasy yourself!

Oh I'm looking forward to dressing up for the dinner, don't get me wrong, and that special feeling you get from it. But I am not at my most comfortable dressed that way and with a ds3.5 to chase and hold, it is also thinking about keeping my dignity and spotfree clothes for our meal, lol!. (Especially if I plan to wear it more than one night so we can pack light!) It helps to hear what people wear in the theatre before going so we don't feel out of place. We do plan on wearing very 'smart casual' to dinner on casual nights and formal to the other two. This we would be very comfortable with, but not for longer than we have to LOL!!. The shows would be a nice down time for us between playing with ds all day and getting ready for dinner, so I am looking forward to 'curling' up to a some great entertainment for the family!. Thanks for the inputs!.
