Dress Code for Palos, Brunch & Tea

We're working on packing now and wondering what the real dress code for dinner at Palos, the champagne brunch and high tea is. Is it definitely coat and tie, or shirt and tie, or open shirt (all with kakhi-type pants) and similar for the ladies?

Jackets are requested for Palo Dinner -- Similar to Semi Formal attire would be fine.

Palo Brunch is resort casual. Polo/Khaki's for the men and sundress or capri's for woman seem to be popular attire.

Palo Tea is also resort casual. And even more casual dress than brunch will be seen. Nice short outfits are appropriate for Tea.

And for Brunch on Sunday the navigator said - resort casual no shorts please But when the navigator came out for Thursdays brunch it just said resort casual (no mention of the no shorts thing). Most people on Sunday abided by the no shorts rule - men were in dockers and polo shirts and women in sundresses and capri's.

On thursday many people wore shorts.

As for dinner - I would say about 98% of the people abided by the dress rules - you always have a few that dont. We had one man on our LAP dining rotation who wore a tank top and shorts to dinner every night. His kids were dressed like he was but his wife was dressed appropriately - He stood out like a sore thumb. My husband even said to me - " you would kill me if I came to dinner like that"

I have a beter one. On Friday night, I sent DH up to Palo's with a small gift for one of the servers who we had particularly liked. He walked in and asked for her at the podium. As he was standing waiting for her, a couple came in dressed in shorts and t-shirts, with a baby in a stroller for their reservation.

They were turned away.

Though I haven't been on the cruise yet, I look forward to dressing up for dinner (crossing fingers on a Palo's reservation). Anyway...

I did speak to someone who had cruised on the Wonder and she told me not to worry about dressing up. She and her family always wore their beach clothes (flip flops and all) and never had a problem. She then said she felt so bad for all the people she did see dressed up, having to take all those extra clothes!

I'm sorry, I'm going to be one of those people she felt sorry for. I want to do this trip properly.

I do have a question though: MY DH-to-be wants to wear his tux and me to wear my wedding dress (minus the train) to dinner if we can get in Palo's on the last night. How bizarre is this going to look? Are people going to think us mad? Will we get turned around at the door for coming in "costume"?
