Dress Code Change (from the Podcast) - anyone else not happy?

I always like to try and freshen up and dress up a little if I am going out to dinner in the evening. That's not always practical at Disney though. I like my family to look presentable, but if you aren't sat at my table, I really don't care, and probably wouldn't notice either.

I never worry about what others wear to dinner. I bring an outfit that is a little dressy, my DH wears a nice shirt and we are happy. I think that my expectations are my own and I don;t care if others share them or not.

Many years ago, CG was The Top of the World, and it was dressy. I loved having a meal there. CG has a different atmosphere but just as nice IMO.

While I too like to dress up for a nice dinner, I feel like many above. With the dress code never being enforced before, I dont see much change.

Now if a large majority of people end up where park attire and I feel out of place dressed up for my signature dinners, to the point of me not dressing up at all, then yes, it may bother me.

My thoughts exactly! While I don't see why anyone would want to sit down to a nice meal in sweaty clothes they've worn all day, it's their perogative. If the entire atmosphere starts to suffer, I'd be disappointed.

:thumbsup2 Disney. This is the first decision in the realm of dining that has made any sense in long time.

I wouldn't say I'm angry about it, but there are people out there who believe that a nice dressy meal out is the perfect ending to any vacation day. I like to wear formal clothes when I can get away with it and DH actually enjoys wearing tuxes on the rare occasion that the circumstances call for it. Although we appear to be members of an ever shrinking minority, I think there should be at least some "jackets required" type places in every good vacation spot where you can have a quality meal amongst similarly minded (and mostly adult) patrons. V&A's is nice and all, but I don't know anyone who can afford that kind of experience more than once per trip.

I'd say I'm disappointed not angry, it takes nothing to dress nicely. Having said that I've worn a ballgown to planet hollywood thats just me. i would feel scruffy sitting down to eat in a t-shirt and shorts. Maybe its a British thing.
