Only at signature restaurants would you need to dress up a bit, but it has been reported that every now and then will you see people in shorts. The only restaurant that has an absolute dress code is Victoria and Albert. You should be fine at Via Napoli in Epcot, heck it's a pizzeria.

We saw people in bathing suits in Citricos and Jiko. If there's a dress code (outside of V&A) I don't think it's enforced at all - or at least not during the slow season, we found nearly every restaurant at least half-empty when we went 2 weeks ago.

1) It is plain pitiful.
2) The dress code at WDW has gone out-of-the-window.
3) It is still on the books, but many people ignore it.
4) And, CM's have been told by managers to not enforce it.

NOTE: The current mantra at WDW is for the guest "to have the best WDW vacation - ever!". This means by-passing a lot of rules and guidelines. A manager never wants a complaint to go over his/her head. Really bad for promotional opportunites!

No in-park restaurant has a stricter dress code than the park itself. The signature restaurants outside of the parks typically have dress codes, but as noted, with pretty lax enforcement.

I imagine V&A is still pretty strict about dress code, though.

Wow! Swimsuits at Citricos & Jiko. That's so sad! :confused3:sad2::sad2:

This is how we dress. For regular TS restaurants Dh wears shorts but usually a polo shirt and I wear capris and a shirt.

For signature TS dining Dh always wears khaki pants and a polo or button down shirt and I wear capris and a nicer top, skirt and top or dress.

The kids usually mirror us for both regular TS and signature dining.

You should be fine in shorts at Via Napoli. I'm sure there will be someone there wearing far less. :rotfl2:

The "rule" for Signature Restaurants is they want you to wear business casual attire when dining there. I've never seen that rule enforced but I've also never seen someone in a bikini top eating in one, so yeah that would be a bit shocking.

My guess is that it's hard to enforce the dress policies at any place, if you can get into the park with the clothes on then how can they deny you entrance into a Signature Dining place? I'm sure they take into effect the nature of the season...if I have a 5:00 ressie at Cali Grill and I'm coming from the MK I don't have time to run back to my resort and change into business casual dress, then go back to my resort and change again so I can be cool if I'm attending an EMH at a park.

We don't have kids and we always do the DxDDP and eat at a Signature TS every night of our vacation. While we don't go to the parks dressed in Business Casual clothes we try to dress appropriate for both places while trying to stay cool. :thumbsup2

T shirts and shorts (or whatever) are fine for most TS restaurants, except for the signatures (with the exception of Brown Derby - since thats in the park, there is no dress code either). You will be out of the norm if you dressed up for the ones in the park, unless you really wanted to.
