Dress Code at Signature Dining Spots

We would love to try one of the signature dining locations like California Grill, Artist Point, or the Yachtsman. However, we really do not plan on returning to the hotel prior to dinner but we certainly do not want to wear collared shirts or dresses to the parks. Are we out of luck? Do they look down upon patrons who wear t-shirts and capris/shorts? I know you cannot wear swimwear and tanks but if we show up in our park attire will we be turned away or frowned upon? :confused3:guilty:

Tee shirts and capris or shorts (as long as they are not cutoffs or otherwise torn) are fine. The only restriction on tee shirts is that they must not have a design or slogan that could be deemed "offensive." Not sure who makes that determination.

we went in park attire and never felt out of place at any of the 5 signature restaurants that we went to. Both of us had sneakers jeans and t-shirts or I would wear a dressy tank top with a light sweater on top.

Have fun:thumbsup2

We have 3 meals coming up in May. I plan on wearing a nice shirt with some capri pants, and my husband will wear some decent looking shorts with a polo shirt. I dont plan on going back to change either!

We have many signature dining ADRs for our June trip, and we will be brandishing our matching DiSign T-shirts. :D

I can see not wanting to wear a dress to the parks, but a COLLARED shirt? I have no problem wearing a shirt with a collar. That and a decent pair of shorts is fine.

I know people do it but I would NOT wear a tee shirt to a signature restaurant.

Thank you for your input! Absolutely nothing is wrong with a collared shirt! I love them. My only prob. with a collared shirt in the parks is it was 92+ humidity last year when we were at WDW!!! A collared shirt just makes me (and my boys) so much hotter!

I may pack some basic polos in a backpack for us (like LandsEnd) and just change as we are heading out of the park. Or I will put us in our nicest Disney tees ;) and hope for the best! I understand the need to dress for dinner as I always want to look my best at home. I just know if we go back to our hotel (the Poly) we will all be tempted to just stay and relax in the pool and blow off the nice meal....:cutie:

Thanks everyone.

The first time we went to WDW, we went to a lot of Signature Dining spots. It was me, my husband, and 3 kids. We were in t-shirts and shorts and they were ok with it.

The only place that I have really seen any extreme reinforcement was at CG on xmas. We were fine (DH and DS (16 then) had khakis and polo shirts and we had xmas sweaters and nice pants(three 40 something women). When we were leaving a man in hawaiian print board shorts came up the elevator with his wife and toddler and they told him he could not be seated with his attire. Luckily, he understood and left without a scene.

We have eaten at Yachtman's steakhouse in park attire and did not feel out of place. I assume Narcossee's would be similar to CG as would Flying Fish, but not sure. I just wouldn't risk not being seated.
