It is now official, Comcast made the deal to purchase Dreamworks.

I thought the price tag seemed quite large at first, but as the article reminded me it is still significantly less than Disney's purchase of Pixar. I have to believe that this will eventually mean big things for Universal Parks and Resorts in the future. It will be interesting to see how and when. Could we see an attraction for How to Train Your Dragon in the parks soon? Or are these implications bigger as it seems inevitable a 3rd theme park is coming. All in all I think the investment was a good option. Personally I don't think Dreamworks is nearly on the level of Pixar or even Disney for that matter (though I do enjoy many of their films) but even still this will wrap up some good intellectual property, especially for younger audiences. Comcast is on a mission, and it seems like Universal has made all the right moves for quite some time.
