Has anyone had great luck using Dreams Unlimited Travel Agency? I am thinking about using them for our upcoming trip but I am nervous to "give over control" to a travel agency. BUT it would be nice to get some help since I am planning a trip for 20 people.

Are they able to get all the discounts applied to the reservations faster (or with the same speed) as those on this message board?

How many people here book their own trip and how many people here use travel agents? Just curious.

Thanks!

I have not used Dreams (I already had my trip booked) but from what I've read and heard they seem to be very helpful & can apply pincodes, make your ADRs etc. Dreams is actually a business owned by the same individuals who run these boards and do the DisUnplugged podcase. I'd go to the Podcast board and ask the same question as I know there are LOTS of people on there who have used Dreams to book Disney cruises, trips, etc. HTH!

I've used Dreams and was very happy with the service. Did a GREAT job making my ADRs (saved me time and I hate talking on the phone). The notified me right away when the 4/3 deal came out so I could adjust my split stay to take advantage of it (if I would have already been booked 7 nights at one resort they would have just immediately applied it). I would use Dreams again.

Dreams is generally reliable and you'll hear lots of good reviews. Remember though that as with any company, they might sometimes employ travel agents that don't do as good a job as they should. If you're unhappy with anything, contact Dreams and ask to be switched, and let the owner know why.

After many trips (about 14) doing all our travel arraignments on my own, last year I decided to use a TA for first time, choosing Dreams Unlimited. In our case, at least, their service was excellent. Although I had a good idea of what we wanted to accomplish in our trip, our TA was very helpful with our ADRs (not an easy thing to do, as we went in September, during free DDP) and reservations, giving us good tips and hints.

I wouldn't hesitate using them again.

Regards,

Luis

I have used Dreams Unlimited for trips to WDW and for a Disney Cruise. They were fantastic, answered all inquiries, made changes for us and always followed up when we returned. I would use them again any time.:thumbsup2

I have used Dreams Unlimited twice now (2 different consultants) and both times they have been fantastic. Each time they organised my ADR's and any questions I have are always answered quickly. They can also organise AP's and tickets for MNSSHP or MVMCP.

Did use a TA but not Dreams. I'm using Magic for less and would use them again in a heartbeat. Great service TA up getting my ADRs and getting my free dining because I had booked before it came out. I have always done my own trips and my friends also but with Disney I was so confused. She even sent me a spread sheet with my ADR's on it.

Used them this year, cannot praise them high enough.

Was concerned about handing over control of booking my ADRs - I gave Dorothy a list of my requested dates & times and got every one - maybe a couple were within a 15 min timescale - which I think is fantastic, given when I'm going.

Excellent service.

(Obviously, this did not include my flights)

We've used them twice, the most recent time a few weeks ago. DU is great! I think they consider themselves more Travel Advisors than a travel agency. They will do as little or as much as you want them to do and it's FREE! They will get you the best available discount for a room, make your ADRs, make your Magical Express ressie and more (if you want them to). We usually book our own trips but we will use DU from now on. They got us into POR on short notice once and got us the military discount at POFQ for our upcoming trip. Once you request a room ressie, you should hear back in a day or two. And, they will continue to check for additional discounts right up to the day you leave. You can't go wrong using DU! Go for it!

We've done 42 trips, and we've booked them all ourselves. I've gotten 3 quotes from DU and a couple from mouseforless, I was comparing prices on what I could get from CRO and they would be almost identical. No big savings by using a TA, but as others have said, I rather be in charge of my reservation and not have to deal with emails from TA's. You're doing a big group, might be a plus for you and also could be a problem too, especially if you get alot of changes. I'm going to sit on the fence on this one. We don't do anything complex, we book room only, no packages and prefer the room discount over the free dining a package offers. We might make 2 or 3 ADR's, if that, and those can be easily done by ourselves thru CRO so we opt to just use CRO for our stays. Any cancellations, phone call away and same for any additions, one call, talk to the horses head, quick answer and confirmation and we're good to go. We even use CRO for booking a AAA discount on room only too, we've checked our pin codes and gotten our AP discounts there too and they have been very helpful in getting and finding us discounts we didn't know existed so we rely on CRO and just calling in. I've read so many posts of people having issues with CRO and I must say, 42 trips and alot more phone calls than that to CRO and we never had any issues. We don't make changes or ask for alot but might have just been lucky, but when something is working for you, leave it alone.

I used DU for my trip in May. I will not be using them again. My agent seemed to be a part-timer and took several days to answer an email back.

From all the info on the boards, it seems DU is a great company, but if you are unhappy with your agent, ask for another one. I didn't know that, but it cost the agency a repeat customer.

My DU agent has emailed me several times, once from her child's soccer match, and always in a timely manner, so I think this poster is correct. It depends on your agent and ours has provided excellent service and communication. Ask to change agents if you aren't satisfied. We are extremely satisfied w/DU and will use them again.

I have used DU twice and recommend it highly. The agents are always on top of discounts, and very importantly, will handle all the arrangements which will save you so much time on the phone. Think of the time spent making ADR's...that alone clinches DU for me!
