I read on another thread that people who transferred ressies to DU found a little gift in their stateroom.

I just got back from our Feb 05 cruise, and there was nothing on our stateroom from DU. Is it that they dont do anything like that anymore??

Oh that would be disappointing...this is our 3rd time using DU and I was hoping for a little surprise!

I think it depends on how many rooms they have booked. We didn't have anything on our 12/18 cruise from them. It used to be if they had 8 or more rooms on a given cruise (not just by one family) there would be gifts. Not sure if that is the criteria or not.

That was my understanding as well....that its a promo for groups that DU is passing along.

It would be nice to know if you were getting the box. I love mine from my last cruise and if DU isn't going to give me another one, I might just have to order one.

We got the Bon Voyage Box on our 2/5/05 Eastern cruise, and so did my parents in the neighboring cabin. It was a nice surprise, since I wasn't expecting anything. Now I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's only for 1st time cruisers. Hmmm?

For our first cruise in 2001 my MIL booked 5 rooms with DU and there was a gift in every room! It was a real treat to start off the cruise like that.

When we cruised using DU we read about the surprises in the staterooms. At that time we didn't realize that there had to be a certain amount of clients booked so we were a bit disappointed when we didn't receive anything.

This last cruise booked with all seasons travel we got bon voyage box in each stateroom, booked 2 cabins in Dec 04 and now 2 cabins Feb 13 cruise. Dec no gift, But this last cruise we did get the gift. :moped: John

We got one on our Jan. 22 cruise aboard the Magic. The attached card said something about "thanks for the group booking". We booked 3 rooms with them.

We used DU for our Jan 29th, 3 staterooms. All staterooms received a gift. We did not expect it...so it was a nice surprise.

I had 2 cabins booked (one for my brother) and neither of us got that. I guess we werent important enough!

Since Billinaz is booking suites with DU, kicking loose a couple bucks for a gift basket from their commission would be a very appropriate thank you gift. I'm pretty surprised they didn't do that.

In Sept. we cruise with friends. We booked with DU and they booked with All Seasons. We did not have a surprise in our room. Our friends did (a photo album I believe).

This is our first time going through DU so I don't know if this is the case...maybe when they say they are for group bookings they are for the clients that are booked with the DU group number? For example, my parents and my family are booked for 2 staterooms on the same cruise, same category both booked through DU with the same TA. My parents ressie# is a "regular" DCL confirmation number. We were able to get a lower rate since DU had a cancellation in their "group booking". We changed to the "group". Our confirmation number is a DCL confirmation number with a "group number" after it. When I called for excursions I had to go through the "group reservation agent" at DCL.

Sooooo to put it more simply, maybe the group gift is for DU group booking? Just a theory! (but I hope it's right b/c I would love to get the gift ;) )
