I am a big chicken about using an online TA but have heard such good things that I am tempted. My one concern is that when I was quoted a price(a good price) I was told that I had to buy my Magic your way tickets through them. And that my cost for those would be up front in addition to my room deposit. I guess my only concern is that I am paying DU for the tickets and what guarantee do I have that they will send them. I was given the same price from AAA for the package- but I feel like DU is more involved for some reason.
So anyone go through this buying tickets upfront thing? DU could not have been more helpful and quick with their response to my requests- that is what is making me want to use them. But I guess I am old school and need hand holding on the online stuff.

I don't know what I can say, but DU has been very reputable and I have not heard of any complaints. I assume you are buying a package which is why you have to get the tickets.

I have never had to buy tickets from them so that may be new.

I have used DU twice and have been very pleased with them. Both times I have bought packages and as soon as I checked in, my tickets were waiting for me.

If you don't want a package and want to buy your own tickets, you can request a room-only reservation with DU. But I would not hesitate to work with them at all. They are great. I worked with Shirley and I ask for her every time I book a trip. She is putting together our trip next month.

DU is great because if the rates go down or a code comes out, they will give you the discount even if you already booked your trip. And they do itinerary planning and save you time if you're not into that. Not to mention that they book PS's.

What is the fee that DU charges for bookng your trip over what it wold cost you to do it yourself?

:jumping2:You will not be disappointed with DU! I have used them for our past 4 vacations and am using them for our August trip. They are Disney experts!

To Fokus17:

There are no fees when booking through DU! :wizard:
It's like magic - they do all of the work!

So they book it and it will not cost me anything??? It would be the same as if I booked it myself?? :earseek:

How are they a business if they do not charge a fee? How do they make money?

:Pinkbounc YEP! :Pinkbounc
They take the hassle out of vacation planning and it is the exact same price you would pay if you called up Disney yourself! DU even looks out for cheaper prices and will lower your rate as it becomes available. I have had this happen every time and I did not have to look out for the savings - they did!

DU makes a commission - I will attempt to find another thread where a DU travel specialist explained how they get paid - give me a minute!

Disney pays Dreams Unlimited a commission on each reservation. So, it doesn't come from the client, it comes from Disney itself.

Each reservation booked through Dreams Unlimited is held directly by Disney (as if you did it on your own). So, deposit and payment policies are the same as Disney's. In fact, all deposits and payments are made directly to Disney. Dreams Unlimited just does the work for you.

Hi Folks

First - let me thank you all for the very kind words about Dreams Unlimited. We love hearing we have made clients happy.

I see you have some questions about how Dreams Unlimited Travel works and I will do my best to answer those here. Please forgive me if I don't give out too many details as these boards are read by many of our competitors and I wouldn't want to give away any secrets

jstbucz - Yes, Dreams Unlimited Travel does prefer to correspondence via email as mush as possible. This is for many reasons (keep costs low, allows agents to work 'off hours', allows our clients and agents the ability to fully 'flesh out' ideas, etc.). If you are still waiting for information on your Swan/Dolphin booking please email us at DreamsRES@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and someone will be happy to assist you.

Annette VA – if you are still waiting on your quote please feel free to write to me directly at john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and I will gladly look into it

NJ DisneyMom - Dreams Unlimited Travel has many avenues at our disposal to try to book the perfect reservation for our clients - including those hard to get rooms and/or allusive discounts - not the least of which is our team of EXTREMELY talented and hard working agents.

Nanatink - yes Dreams Unlimited Travel (and every other TA for that matter) receives a commission based upon the pretax amount of the room you book. If the rate is lowered due to a code then DU receives less commission. Sounds like bad business - right? Well my answer to that is two fold - first Dreams Unlimited’s agents LOVE to save their clients money. You might even say it's an obsession for them. Second, if you get a better rate you might be able to add to your length of stay - hopefully you will tell a friend about it or post on these boards - and in the end DU gets more business from it. Dreams Unlimited will continue to look for the best rate possible - even if it means apply newer codes after an original code was used.

Seara - yes, booking a Swan/Dolphin reservation is different from booking a Walt Disney World owned and operated resort through Dreams Unlimited Travel. However, if you decide to switch from a Disney owned and operated resort to the Swan/Dolphin DU does have a system in place whereby the agent working with you does not lose the commission. Dreams Unlimited will make your PS arrangements if you book at the Swan/Dolphin (and any of our DreamsRES/off property resort partners for that matter) and any PS's you already made can be switched over as well. The only difference is that you do not get an agent assigned to your reservation and you do not get a full, detailed itinerary.

I hope I was able to answer everyone's questions - if you would like to email me directly at john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com please feel free to do so.

Thanks
John

They are the greatest! Our agent, SueEllen, has gone above and beyond for us. I originally booked the Swan through their other part, DreamsRES. After talking online with SueEllen I switched our other trip that I had already booked over the DU. She took my garden wing CR and got it turned into tower adn applid my AP discount to it. Then, she found me a room at the YC for next weeks trip after Disney told me that everything was booked up except OKW. She has even taken care of all of my PS' for both trips. I feel completely confident in her/DU and will let them book all of our future trips to the "world"

We have been working with Marla from DU. She is very proffesional and kind. She has bent over backwards to make us happy. She has made all of ps plans and saved us 700 dollars using a code that she found. We made a couple of changes and I made a couple mistakes and she fixed everything happily. I have had more fun planning this vaction with Marla then I have doing it solo in the past. Give it a try it is stress free.
Tara ;)
