Dreams Unlimited. Disatisfied or satisfied?

My fiance and I thought that the conciere services (booking PS for you or other activities) would be great to use b/c of my unusual food allergy. We have no problem booking things ourselves, but figured what the heck well ask them for a quote.

Well over a week later we get an email back without a quote, bu them just asking for my name. I thought that was pretty clear b/c I listed my first middle and last name, and signed with my middle name b/c thats what I go by. Their main concern seemed to be getting my name right. So I thought okay they might be confused. So I sent them another email back with my fiance and Is names on there, and was very specific about him being my travel partner and this being our honeymoon.

So almost 2 weeks later I get another email back. Without a quote but asking who my travel partner will be and if this is a special occassion trip (like birthday, anniversary, etc.). NOw not to sound rude but did they even bother to read my emails? I am not happy with waiting for 3 weeks for a quote.

So I though okay one more try, emailed them with a specific request for a quote, with all the information they could possibly want, travel dates, names, honeymoon, etc, and that was 3 weeks ago and no response.

SO I will definately stay far away from them I am thinking. BUt has anyone had a GOOD experience with them? I think them making all the PSs would be nice if their price was right, BUT I highly doubt they will do a good job since they can't even read their emails?

How did you request your quote? There's a link on www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com to "Request a Quote", which leads to a form that you fill out so that Dreams will have all of the information they need to prepare a quote for you.

But you say you emailed them your request for a quote- what address did you send the email to?

I have used Dreams several times, and have always found them VERY responsive.

Having to wait 3 weeks for a quote is completely unacceptable and I apologize.

I have used them for 3 trips and working on a 4th now... I love them!! Tammy is awesome!!! Sorry you have had a difficult time... :(

Before our (eventually self-booked) trip last year, both my DH and I requested quotes from DU at separate times a few weeks apart. Neither of us ever heard anything back.
 
I've booked my two upcoming trips with Dreams Unlimited. My agent is Merrie and she has been fantastic and she has answered all my questions (and there have been a lot) within a day.
 
I was gonna book with them, but it took several days to receive my quote (not a big deal) but when I emailed the agent to ask some questions about the resort so I could decide I have never and still to this day have not received a reply.

So I said forget it and did it myself.
 
I have used them for the 1st time for our upcoming trip and have been very satisfied. Sue Ellen is wonderful and extremely responsive. I'm sure things will get straighted out and you'll be well taken care of.:sunny:
 
Last trip our agent was spectacular--but she is no longer with DU. I polled you wonderful DISers for a recommendation and requested Tricia Brookover for this trip and I already love her!

I have been working as an event planner for more than 20 years and have my Travel Agent certificate, and I prefer to use DU. They are fantastic. I hope it gets cleared up for you and works out.

We booked with Dreams in 2001 and 2002...and Misti was absolutely fabulous!!
 
We used DU for our first trip and are using them again. I received quotes within 24 hours both times. Merrie has been our agent both times and has been great about answering any questions. I have always gotten very prompt replies.
 
Used DU twice before we bought DVC. Misti was fabulous. Contact John and I am sure he will do his best for you.
 
My experience with DU was a very good one, good service. Over the years, the feedback I have seen on the boards regarding DU has been similar to this thread, mostly, almost all positive, a few apparent slipups here and there, but most often corrected if given the opportunity. One good thing about DU is that most of the TA's are moderators here on the DIS, and/or family of them, and they are here on the boards usually fairly often, picking up the very curent info theat will help you in your trips. That is a big plus, IMO.
 
I've used them and three of my friends have also used DU. I usually point newbies in their direction. Everyone has loved them, we've all used Cathy Miller, she is super.
 
We have used DU for 3 trips and the 4th one is booked and we have been very pleased, we use Cathy Miller and she always goes out of her way to make sure we have the trip of a lifetime planned specifically for our family. ::yes::
 
We have previously had good luck and service with Dreams.

I asked for a quote yesterday for one hotel, and then asked for another hotel quote. I was just looking for rates and I think I confused them. Took a while for the second request to get a response. When I did, they said they couldn't give me a quote when I already had a reservation pending. ALL I WANTED was a couple of quotes for rates! I didn't know they were making a reservation.

Anyway, I wrote back asking to cancel the first quote/reservation. They eventually e-mailed back with a room rate for the second request.

In the meantime, I had contacted another TA, recommended on this board, for a quote of both places. I heard back almost right away after each request.

Now, I am in a dilemma as both places quoted the same rate and both charge no fee.
