Dreams Really Do Come True! - Our Wedding Trip - Spring 2011

Soon it was time for my parents to change into travelling clothes, get their bags and head down to the lobby.

We waited out the front for the ME with them, Mum not believeing it was all over. :sad2:

When the bus turned up and we said goodbye she burst into tears! Which set me off too. :sad1: Poor Mumsie - she really could have done with a few more Disney days.

Once I'd pulled myself back together we decided to have a dip in the pool, so we went upstairs and got changed and then headed back down to the Sugarloaf pool, I know it's not the main pool, but I find it prettier for some reason. :lovestruc

Well, after about 10 minutes in the pool, the sky went black and the lifeguard told everyone we had to get out! We just about managed to wrap towels around us and dash across to the little secret lift that took us up to our room.

When we got back in this was the view from our window!

Nevermind, we had the nicest hotel on property to relax in, and didn't even need to go outside to get to the lounge!

We took our time getting washed and dressed (me so much so that Jack almost fell asleep:

Then we headed out to the lounge, grabbed some drinks and snacks and then wandered around the main building a little.

I bought yet more Pink Sugar flavoured stuff in Basin, Jack ummed and ahhed over a belt in the mens clothing store but then didn't get it, and we bought a beautiful painting of the WP, a GF T-shirt and a GF pin in the Sandy Cove store.

This is the print - we now really wish we'd gotten the matching GF one - next time. ;)

When we got back to the room we had messages on our phones, Dave & Karen and Janey & Neil were thinking of heading to the MK for the evening, so we said we'd join them - it'd be rude not to.

We had dinner from the delicious club lounge offerings, and then headed over to the MK (via Sandy Cove for Ponchos for Jack, Dave, Karen, Janey and Neil) to meet everyone.

Luckily enough we seemed to all bump into each other in the central hub near the emporium, everyone donned their ponchos (it was still raining loads, but not windy) and we were read to have a magical evening!

Next update soon - I don't 'have photos of this evening online, so I'll add them before updating.

yay more updates! :goodvibes that bed in your room looks sooo comfy! No wonder Jack couldn't resist nearly falling asleep! :thumbsup2

Just found your TR and read it all. What a beautiful wedding! I love your colour scheme and your flowers were stunning.

Lovely picture of the Wedding Pavillion :goodvibes

New update coming now!

Well, I’m afraid I don’t have any photos of this evening, and nor do Janey or Karen – it was just too rainy!

So apologies for there being no photos – I’ll keep it short and sweet!

Despite the rain we had a very fun evening.

We started with a ride on the Magic Carpets (walk on, of course) before riding PotC.

We then walked around to BTM and rode, Jack, Janey, neil and I figured we couldn’t get much wetter riding Splash, so we did, but Dave and Karen were a little wiser and decided to browse the shop!

Once we’d met back up there was time for a quick ride on Haunted Mansion before we needed to get a spot for Wishes.

With only a few minutes to go there was still plenty of room all around due to the weather, so we grabbed a spot just in front of the railings to the left of the central hub.

It was the first time we’d seen Wishes up close that trip, and the first time we’d seen Magic, Memories and You so even the rain couldn’t take away its magic, and there being no crowds made it quite good really.

But after the fireworks we were all growing a little tired of being so damp, and for Jack and I especially yesterday had been a very big, tiring day, so we made our way down Main Street, stopping to admire the Vinylmations and Pins in the Emporium on the way.

Once we got to the gates we said our goodnights and the others headed over to the buses, while Jack and I deliberated Monorail or Boat.

I don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of the monorails when it’s wet, and they’ve been filled with damp, sweaty people. Sort of smells like a farm. And a boat was right there, so we hopped on the boat.

Over the lake in the distance there was an amazing electrical storm, so we watched that while we waited to head over to the GF. I think other people were a lot smarter than us, and having seen the storm they rode monorail.....but for some reason we chose boat, and were the only passengers.

Our lovely captain set off, on quite a bumpy ride across the lagoon to the GF.

Soon we arrived but the wind was so strong that every time the driver got the boat near the dock it would just get blown back again. He tried and tried and the wind and waves were really making it difficult. We asked if there was anything we could do to help, and there probably was, but I doubt he’s allowed to let guests drive/man the ropes etc.

After a long time of trying he was finally successful, and we managed to jump off quick whilst thanking him profusely!

We quickly ran back to our sneaky CL lift entrance and were soon back in the room, ready for our 3rd bath of the day and to bed for our final night in the GF. :(

I thought you were going to say you got stuck on the boat then!

We've got the same WP painting in a silver frame in our living room!

Awww, thank you so much for reading, and for your wonderful comment. :goodvibes:

Glad my TR helped spread some Disney magic.

After another wonderful nights sleep in our GF bed it was checkout day. :sad2:

We both agreed we wished we could just spend the next 15 days at the GF, but seeing as the 4 days we had there cost more than 12 at the Boardwalk (including 1 free night and 30% discount) I think it's safe to say we couldn't afford that! :lmao:

So, we spent the morning taking in the resort some more and having our fill in the CL lounge.

Soon it was time we had to leave our room, and I didn't want to spend the day delaying the inevetable, so once we were all packed up we headed out and got a cab over to the Boardwalk.

As soon as we got there my spirits lifted though, all the CMs were so happy and friendly and welcoming, the lovely BW music was playing and it seemed a great place to be chekcing in to!

Even better news was that our room was ready.

We had a room overlooking the village green, this was our view:

I was a little disappointed as I knew if we were one floor up we'd be able to see EPCOT. But we were so close to the lobby that we decided to stay put.

Oh - and the best thing?! I got a KTTW in my married name! :bride:

keys1n.jpg

Shame it wasn't gold anymore though! :headache: We both missed flashing those bad boys!

I have failed to mention that BAD weather was coming in, so we had the telly on tracking the storm.

Janey and Neil, and Jack's friend Dave were all at a loose end that day, and the bad weather wasn't appealing for a park visit, so they arranged to come over to the BW for some lunch, and we'd make plans from there.

Soon the winds and the rain hit, and a very soggy Dave, Janey and Neil arrived.

We managed to just about make it down to the Big River Grille without getting drenched by clinging to the walls on the front of the Boardwalk.

We all had delicious lunches in there (Jack still talks about his Cajun Fish Sandwich) before retreating back to the room to make plans.

Dave wanted to head to Walmart, and Janey and I liked that plan.

Jack and Neil werent too fussed, and having checked the Touring Plans app it was empty in EPCOT - so they donned ponchos and headed into the park, while Dave, Janey and I headed out into the real world!

More to follow.

Still following :goodvibes Is the golden ticket just for GF guests?
No you get a key like that at any resort if you're staying Club Level. :) It means it can access the private elevators. (And just generally makes you feel special -and less like you've spent a ludicrous amount of money for the same sized room - I think! Lol)

Ok - so this is going to be a very boring, photo-less update, but then we're back into proper photo territory so I'll get it over quickly! :rotfl: The weather was just SO bad that it was all we could do to run from cover to cover!

Dave drove us down to the Walmart on Vineland Road, and he was even kind enough to let Janey and I hop out at the store entrance and then he ran over to the shop!

We all had a good browse and bought lots of snacks!

They had an easter egg that was Reece's and the entire egg was filled with Peanut Butter! I took a photo to show Jack later and he told me off for not having bought it!

Once we'd all stocked up on lots of food tot ake back to our resorts we ran back through the rain to the car, and then on the way back to the BW we stopped off quickly at the Lake Buena Vista outlet stores.

I managed to pick up a couple of nice dresses in Old Navy, and we had a look around Disney Premier. Janey was excited to see the Scrubs store as she's a Dental Nurse, but turns out they weren't much cheaper than she pays here, and she's not allowed to wear the awesome patterend ones.

Then we jumped back into the car before heading back to the resort.

---------------

Meanwhile in EPCOT

Jack and Neil headed to Mission:SPACE which was a walk on, they opted for the green side.

Jack says their feet were under water whilst walking around!

They browsed the shops for a while before getting sick of the rain and also heading back to the Boardwalk.

Once we had all got in and dried off a little we sat, ate lots of snacks and chatted before calling it an early night.

We had a fun morning planned for tomorrow!

--------

Here ends the boring no photo posts! I promise! Thanks for sticking with them!

After a lovely night's sleep in the BW we woke up to sunshine!! What a relief!

We had a great day ahead, starting with Breakfast with Janey and Neil at 'Ohana!

So we got up, showered and dressed and then headed out to catch the bus to MK where we hopped on the monorail and were whizzed to Polynesia in no time at all. :)

We were way earlier than planned so took our time wandering around the resort, Jack having his (now traditional) photo in the lobby:

215989_10150546196780084_821450083_18255213_8185781_n.jpg

Then we headed outside to see the SUN!

221935_10150546197075084_6024146_n.jpg

This view made our hearts ache a little! We were missing it already.

217496_10150546197355084_821450083_18255220_1697607_n.jpg

We walked up to Sunset Pointe (a wedding location for small weddings) which had a lovely view of the castle, and then I had a go on one of the hammocks. It wasn't a ladylike sight, I'm quite short and got a little stuck!

Then we walked back to towards the lobby:

205744_10150546197640084_821450083_18255226_5282921_n.jpg

Stopping to for me to have a little paddle in the lake, we sat on the swinging chair for my feet to dry, and then we headed back indoors.

When we got to the door there was a crowd, as there was some sort of dance competition or show going on, the kids were really good! :)

205165_10150546198005084_821450083_18255231_1960210_n.jpg

Pretty soon it was time for our ADR so we headed upstairs and almost as we got there a monorail pulled in and off came Janey and Neil!

And Janey and I were dressed like twins! hee hee - you'll see in later photos.

We went over to check in, there was a tiny wait, maybe 5 minutes, but people walking up were being told 45.

Soon we were ushered in for our photo, given our leis, and sat at a table sort of in the right hand corner near the side windows. it was lovely and light.

Here are Janey and Jack doing a brother and sister pose! (I think we'd been asked to do this hand thing in our group photo...)

We started on our delicious pineapple bread, and soon it was fruit and waffle time!

207874_10150546200300084_821450083_18255272_3905472_n.jpg

And then it was parade time for the kids. It was so lovely and brought a little tear to my eye, we're definitely going here when we take children. They all loved it!

205570_10150546199270084_821450083_18255253_307256_n.jpg

Then it was hot food time! Yum!!

205085_10150546199955084_3089884_n.jpg

Luckily it worked out that the characters didn't reach us until we'd all had a fair bit of breakfast, so we got to take care of our bellies before we had to stop eating.

First up was Lilo:

And then we were almost done. :) Perfectly timed.

We were all stuffed, but our lovely server brought us a congratulations cupcake for our wedding.

At that point Pluto came over, he wanted some cake, but Jack was a bit protective!

After breakfast we waddled over to the TTC as we like the TTC-EPCOT monorail ride so it's nice to make the excuse to do it.

Here we are aboard:
