From the Summer Season 2013 press release (poor google translation but you get the gist):

In summer 2013, another novelty for Disney Dreams ®! comes precisely from the audience itself: the show will light up and become more interactive with new Mickey ears bright, "Disney Light'Ears (1)" that change color in sync with the show. Using the latest infrared technology, these ears diffuse light magical iridescent changing which supplements as it extends the reach of Disney Dreams ®! after nightfall on the Park. With the "Disney Light'Ears" the emotion of the show Disney Dreams ®! saw himself more intensely.

That's what I was on about on the Tarzan post ;)

It's 25€ pp, if you only buy 2 pairs for your children you can't go in the area with them. Everybody in the area must have ears so imagine the cost :sad2:

Jazzybunny - Summer season ie high season normally starts after the 14th of July. June is low season still

Thats a lot of money. :scared1: but I guess you can use them again and again....each visit.

It seems that these ears are giving away at the show for free at WDW. :confused3

Is it really so ?

Look at the beginnig of this video:

Oh, gutted :( I would pay that, because it looks awesome! But I don't have any children to pay out for.

and priced at only €25 a pair apparently !
It's thought they will also give access to a privileged viewing area for Dreams, although I'm not sure how that work, if you bought them for the children would the whole family get access ?

So no Fantillusion, no Tarzan, inflated Summer prices and now I find out that we're probably going to have to pay an extra €100 if we want to get a decent view for Dreams

You can still get a decent view without being in the VIP area, we managed to get really close last year but I personally think it is viewed best standing back from it about the level of Caseys gets a good view. I don't think this will be very popular as it costs but then again people were paying a fair amount for the VIP meals, only benefit was that food was included.

As far as I can tell, it's pretty popular in the US, despite the cost. And I don't think you get access to a preferred viewing area over there. I don't know what the percentage of regulars is like in Paris as compared to the US, but you certainly can just buy them once and then use them every time you go.

Personally I'm not sure if I like it. It's a cute novelty, but I think it takes away a bit from the actual show. I imagine it would be very distracting for me. I guess I'll see for myself one day :thumbsup2

I can't see this taking off as well as it has in the US. I can see the appeal, as a Disney fan I can see DW and I buying them but at 25 Euros each they are going to be very expensive for the average family of four to buy.

I also think Europeans visitors are a bit more sophisticated when it comes to their souvenir buying. To buy somthing so expensive that is only intended to be used for a 20 minute show will put a lot of visitors off, especialy during these harsh economic conditions when visitors are watching every penny they spend.

I read differently.
The problem with the ears is that they work wonderfully if everyone except you buy them. You cannot see your own ears! And they work better if al lot of people wear them, otherwise the effect is not that good.
So I heard that there is the idea for a preferred zone also in Disneyland and WDW for people wearing the ears, to incentivate the purchase and also to group them so they give a better effect for others.

I've read some guests saying this about them being used in Disneyland in US. I'm not sure I like it either - guess we'll have to experience it to properly decide!

I was in DCA watching World of Color last year and there was a single person in front of me who had the "Glow with the Show" ears. It was cool to see the colours on his ears change with the show, but it was also distracting and the effect was rather lost with just a single set of ears!

The effect would be much better with a group of people together - so it does make sense for a preferred zone (as zavandor said).

I'm not sure I'd get a set though - it might be nice to get access to the preferred viewing area, but I remember picking up a set of the ears and thinking they were quite heavy and not something I'd want to wear for long... But if I plan to watch Dreams several times then it might be worth buying a pair!!

A video recording of the new dreams was made tonight in the presence of Cast Members.

Info and photos courtesy of Arth @ DCP

The family have already said they wouldn't wear them, but I'm coming around to the idea :)

I want these so badly! It looks awesome :D

I wish they lit up on their on too though :( like a generic setting that would just light up or flash or something and then they interactive setting for the show..

THey will be launched at the press event this evening and either be on sale straight away or from the new season launch date, i suspect it will be sooner rather than later :)

Officially they're still saying available in the Summer at the resort and from disneystore.fr and disneystore.uk priced at 20 euros/pair.
But does that mean official dlp summer season i.e. from 7th july or are we saying, june, july, august - summer months

Will be interesting to see the reaction from the press event tonight, whether ordinary guests are invited to stay and watch and if they're given the opportunity to purchase ears and the feedback from the evening.

If everyone is wowed by the effect of the Ears it'd be in dlp's interest to get them on sale ASAP, they'd be daft not to.

New Info released this afternoon, afraid it's Summer as in DLP's summer season by the looks of it
