Dream's Evolution Dance Floor Condition

Sailed the Dream on 9/14 4-night. Our group of ladies who looked forward to shakin' our tail feathers were rather disappointed that the DJ & dancing each night had been moved from Evolution to an obviously temporary setup in the District Lounge. Not really the right venue or vibe for dancing the night away. The first few nights we were perplexed and commented about it to anyone who would listen. Nobody had a good explanation why the music and dancing had been moved from the venue that was designed for it. The 2nd to last night during the costume contest I happened to be seated where I had a clear view of the center of the Evolution dance floor. I noticed not only was the floor in really horrible condition, there are chunks missing near the center seem in the flooring. It looks like where each screw that secures the surface around the seems is splintered, many of these splintered sections had chunks busted out. I believe THIS is the reason the dance venue was changed.

Here's to hoping the Evolution dance floor surface will be replaced during the drydock. It really needs it. I'm hoping someone who sails the Dream post drydock will report back.

your right, that does not look good! quite a mess. it looks maybe like it would be dangerous if a person were wearing the wrong shoe.

I'm really hoping they get this repaired this year. Our group of ladies will be onboard again next September and, again, we'll be hoping to put some mileage on the proper dance floor.

"Putting mileage on the dance floor" is probably what broke the floor in the first place . They probably didn't allow for the rougher dance moves when designing that floor.

I got moves but I'm not all that great. LOL! Our ladies move but I wouldn't call it very noteworthy. Hahahahaaaa!!!!

I was actually thinking of some of the moves I saw some of the younger, more agile passengers doing when we were there. That, as well as when they have shows in there that utilize the dance floor with equipment (unicycles, tables and cases on rollers) for the various entertainers. That can wreak havoc on the floor, also.

Is anyone else bothered by the club being named "Evolution" when it's butterfly-themed? It should be called "Metamorphosis" instead. I heard a rumor that there may be a bit of District re-tooling during dry dock so perhaps it will be re-themed.
