Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

I know - such a waste, eh? ;) I also don't ski or participate in any outdoor winter sports! :scared1:

I hated seafood growing up, but I have grown to love some fish and of course crab. Loved the fresh haddock and salmon I had in Alaska and my favorite is Baramundi in Australia. :thumbsup2

Born & raised in NH and I don't eat any seafood either! I don't even like tuna fish sandwiches! :scared1: I don't ski either... :rolleyes1

Leslie - Port Orleans looks beautiful! Maybe someday... :confused3

Haven't read all the replies, but I'm guessing (going out on a limb) that the signature is Michael Gelman. He's the producer (?) of the Regis morning show. Let me tell you, at the bank, I see all kinds of scrawly signatures, so I've gotten pretty good at deciphering.

I think you are right!

Great update! I love your t-shirt! Very cute. And you got some great pins as well. :thumbsup2

Love Mama Melrose. I never understand why it gets poor reviews sometimes. Never had a bad meal there. :confused3

Oh, I hope you take the carriage ride! I was actually going to suggest it to you back when you were going to be staying at Pop as ab excuse to go over to Port Orleans but didn't mention it because you were on your big budget kick and I didn't want to be too much on an enabler. The carriage ride is really fantastic though, so I hope that plan goes through.

I just knew you two would just fall in love with Riverside. Glad you finally got over there.

What a wonderful, long update!!!

Love the light fixture pictures of Mama Melrose! I don't think I have ever seen any interior photos of that place....I'm happy to read your meal there was good too! I have it on our "To try" list, but always hesitate due to the reviews. And an impromptu DISmeet, can't beat it! :thumbsup2

AWESOME B&B pictures! This one is great, it's like he posed just for you! :goodvibes

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2218.jpg

That cheesecake at Brown Derby looks INCREDIBLE. This restaurant is also on my list....and moving up each time I read a review.

It sounds like you really had a lovely evening exploring Riverside...I've only ever ridden through the grounds on a bus, even then it looked beautiful - and your pictures confirm it!! So, so pretty!

Spaceship Earth pancakes? :scared:

I LOVE your night photos of DHS & POFQ! Let me just say, too, that the cheesecake at Brown Derby looks SO amazing!! I may have to try it in October!!! I'm looking forward to reading more of your TR. I really like your surprises & suspense...it is so fun!
Yes, you should try the cheesecake, it is so very yummy!

Great updates!

The calamari looks sooo yummy. I have a hard time passing it up when it is on the menu.

As for the lava smoothie...I am reading your updates while drinking my morning vanilla protein shake. I am just not able to get my imagination to believe that I am actually drinking the smoothie instead. No comparison. I actually tried the alcohol version last time at WDW - the Pina Colava. It was SO GOOD! But I only had one. I was afraid of getting dehydrated while sitting by the pool.

Can't wait to hear about your next mystery ADR!
I could really go for a lava smoothie right about now...I wonder if I could find a recipe for something like that. I had a Pina Colava in May and they tasted the exact same! I was impressed with that.

I don't remember if we met a Paul or not??? All of the CMs we met were wonderful at both places! I just really remember Leon loving his job!! He was fantastic!!
I don't remember either.

I know - such a waste, eh? ;) I also don't ski or participate in any outdoor winter sports! :scared1:

I don't participate in winter sports either though I used to like ice skating. Sad about the seafood, I take it you don't like lobster?

another great update i love the food photos xx
Thanks!

WHAT a great update!!! :thumbsup2

Really liked all the details about your choices at MM and the Brown Derby! I also really enjoyed seeing all the POR and FQ photos... looking forward to your carriage ride, so glad you did that! How fun! It does look charming there, I would consider it for us, too! We had dinner at MM last November... we did enjoy our dinner, and had that same calamari! Thought it was great!

Nice Ts and pins!!! What is that "R" -- the red one, I surely must know but I can't remember. Cute photos of you two gals!!! Looking forward to more!
It really is charming, you would love it!

The "R" is from Meet the Robinsons! Such a great movie. :cloud9:

I've been hungry for something all day today, and I couldn't put my finger on what. Now I know. Crab cake and cobb salad from BD. Think I can run and get some for dinner? :rotfl: Looks like it was a wonderful day.
Mmmm...I would love a crab cake right now...and cheesecake...and.....calamari...and....lots of bad stuff.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Mama Melrose! I've always wanted to try it, but have been hampered by bad reviews. I've learned I really need to get over that in general and just try a place for myself, because unless you really know your reviewer, how do you even know you have the same tastebuds? :lmao::lmao:

I can't believe how many times you went on TSM! That's so much fun. And I haven't seen Beauty and the Beast in sooooo long. Maybe I should talk my mom into that. :goodvibes

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the villain shop is more merchandise heavy in October because it's the fall season, and right before Halloween. Still a bummer, I like to shop there myself.

It is also the home of my favoritest junky apples! ;)

All in all this seems like a wonderful day! You had some great park and resort time. :thumbsup2
I was thinking that about the villain shop too, must be in peak form during the Halloween season.

We were loving TSM. I could have gone on it another 3 times too. Too much fun!

That was my guess, too! Well, the one in my head anyway. ;)
I think you all are right.

no internet since Monday night...I have felt lost

Glad you enjoyed MM, I wasn't a fan but you had completely different food than me.

BnB, can't wait to see it!

BD...looks delish and now I am torn between the grapefruit cake and your dessert  Maybe Beth and I will share! (Oh crap, just remembered she is allergic to strawberries...what to do, what to do?)

I'm not a fan of POFQ but POR sure is beautiful. Do they share the same common areas? (It the mardi gras heads and alligators that get me :scared:)
They don't really share any common area, you could stay at POR and totally avoid the crazy alligators.

CHEESECAKE! CHEESECAKE!! :rolleyes1

Born & raised in NH and I don't eat any seafood either! I don't even like tuna fish sandwiches! :scared1: I don't ski either... :rolleyes1

So sad about the seafood! It makes me want to cry. :rotfl2:

Port Orleans was just so amazing. I highly recommend staying there.

I'm so glad that we took the carriage ride.

You were right, I just fell completely in love. I don't think I even loved Wilderness Lodge this much. :lovestruc

And they let you live there??? Is that allowed?
It shouldn't be.....:rolleyes1

I'd eat at Mama Melrose's again for sure. In fact, I think Marc would love it so I plan to take him there.

You must must must MUST go to Brown Derby. I think you'd get a kick out of the atmosphere inside. :goodvibes

I need to catch up. Work has been so crazy. I hate when it gets in the way of the DIS :rotfl:
No worries, I'm so behind on everything on the DIS. I just haven't had the time or energy lately!

Hey LL and Jen,

catching up on your tr...and enjoying it very much...:goodvibes (still 7 pages behind) but I wanted to make some comments before I forget...

Thanks for the Alice photo...don't have that book...I think I saw it once but I forgot it...thanks for the enabling...:lmao:

Love the photos of POFQ...I liked it very much when we stayed there...:goodvibes...I agree about the Disney boat transportation...It really does add a magical and relaxing touch...

I want some Dr. Pepper soap...
I also want a carrot cake cookie...:yay:

I'm so glad that you had a good meal at WPE-love it there

I'm sorry Leslie about the Manic TSM run...It really freaked me out too... when we were there last August...:confused3...I do like the ride but that kind of chaos/pushing really is a bit much...I do worry about some of the small kids getting hurt...I picked David up and he's 7...but I was still nervous...:confused3

I'm glad to hear that they got that under control when you were back with Jen...

More happy reading...:surfweb:

That reminds me..I still haven't used my Dr. Pepper soap! I had a busy weekend last week so I totally forgot about it. Must use it this weekend. :thumbsup2

The TSM run is way too much. I hate that people are so cut throat at DISNEY WORLD. It is ridiculous, people need to chill. Waiting in line for a ride....well there are a lot worse things that could happen.

Nope - don't like lobster! Hate shrimp the most. I can handle clams.
Man! My brother doesn't like lobster either. My dad will eat it but he rather eat something else. My mom and I on the other hand.....well...we can put away a lot of lobster. Or at least I used to be able too. :rotfl2: Before my surgery they actually told me that some people can't eat lobster afterwards and I will admit...I paused and had to think about it. :rotfl:

I've been following along.. don't worry ;) I told you those TSM stampeders were crazy!!! It is really rediculous.. esp since these are GROWN ADULTS acting that way. I mean, if you're in the park at rope drop there isn't going to be a long wait no matter what.. why are people running and knocking eachother over? So they can be 3 spaces ahead of where they would be if they just speed walked likes civilized people? LOL OK enough of my rant.. at least you didn't LOSE a shoe like me and are blister free !!! :cool1:
Can't go wrong with Brown Derby.. never been to mama melrose but I've heard good things!
Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite of the moderate resorts. And it brings back a lot of good childhood memories, as we used to stay there when it was Dixie Landings :cloud9:

I agree! I can see walking, even walking quickly, but the running, pushing, etc. is just silly! Or how about the annoying adults who budge in front of children and stand there during a parade....! :sad2:

I thought of you during the whole TSM stampede! I can't imagine losing a shoe. Note to self, never wear sandals at DHS. :rotfl2:

I just loved Port Orleans...especially Riverside. :lovestruc

Yes, walking quickly is just fine. No running, no pushing, no darting would be great!

That's the worst! Especially when the child is in a stroller - hate that!! :headache:
That is just obnoxious! People can be so rude.

I'm not going as quickly as I would like with this Trip Report. Real life has just gotten in the way. I've been really busy at work and busy at home. I have the next update started so I'm hoping to finish it between now and tomorrow.
:thumbsup2

Caught up!
Sharing apps and dessert sounds like the perfect way to have a light TS meal. Maybe my friend and I will try that in July.

POFQ and POR are just beautiful. I think it's the most beautiful of the Mods.

Well, I for one thank you! :lmao: I'm still so behind on everything and it's just getting worse! We've been really busy since we've home! I get sometime this week to get through everyones stuff!

It sound like you guys had a great day at DHS after we met!

Your meals look so yummy!! That cheesecake looks heavenly!!

Your POFQ and POR pictures are so beautiful!! We definitely have to stay there at some point for a few non-DVC days!

Joining in! Great TR so far. I'm glad to hear your review of MM's, as we are eating there in May, and of POR, because that is where we are staying!!! :goodvibes
