Okay... I know this is a bit premature... but I'm just so excited about our next disney trip that I wanted to start planning now! Okay, that's a lie, I started planning weeks ago but I figured now would be a good time to start my pre-disney report to ease that disney itch!!!

This will be our second journey to Disney World. Our first was in 2009. Hubby and I (and our kids, ages 4 and 8 at the time) eloped in St. Augustine and then finished things off with some pixiedust: magic pixiedust: by heading straight to Disney World for the rest of the week. It was an amazing time!

Our next journey down south to see the mouse is scheduled for the beginning of December 2015. I'm so so so excited! :dogdance: This time my dd will be 10 and old/tall enough to go on EVERYTHING and my ds will be 14 (ACK! A teenager :scared: ). We also have one new addition to our cast. My ds, Peanut, who is only 1 years old now but will be 4 at the time of the trip.

So far, I think we're going to be camping at Fort Wilderness and will likely stay for 5-7 days. We then hope to end things with a relaxing cruise to the bahamas. :lovestruc

WOOHOO I'm here popcorn:: Let the planning commence!
Your family sound so cute, bet they are all excited
Have you stayed at Fort Wilderness before? We've not stayed there, but went over for Hoop De Doo and the resort is lovely, we also did a horse and carriage ride and that was soooo relaxing. I took some photos of the resort area so will have to dig them out for you, will help with the excitement :rotfl:

A cruise to the Bahamas? Stunning :cloud9:

And OMG! I've only just realised that both our last trips were at the same time, December 2009!!! How spooky is that!!

I'd love pics! We've never been to Fort Wilderness nor have we been to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We're excited (though after reading some things tonight I'm feeling a little  about camping... more bout that later...). The kids and I have been contemplating on whether or not we should do the Hoop Dee Doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I think the BBQ would be great for my youngest and since we'll likely do Disney again it may be wisest for us to do the Mickey BBQ and save Hoop Dee Doo for the next trip????

I'm quite excited about the cruise. We're not 100% certain that it's going to become a reality (it depends on finances at the time, we're looking to buy a new home that same year... so hopefully it'll work out). We've never been on a cruise before ever so it would be a brand new experience for us. There's a part of me that thinks I may find cruising a bit boring as I like the constant go go go of Disney World and like vacations that keep you steady on your feet but after fully realizing just how EXHAUSTING (in a good way) Disney World can be I think I'd enjoy the relaxation part of it at the time. With that said I've always wanted to go on an Alaskan or Hawaiian cruise so doing a 3 day bahamas one would be a good test run to see how I like it before we dish out money on a longer more expensive trip that may not be 'our thing'.

So tonight I've been reading..... about.... snake encounters in Disney World

I'm freaking out! Seriously! To the point of feeling ill about it :(

I always known there was poisonous snakes in Florida (and knew the potential of them being in Disney World) but I did my best to not look too much into it...... And then I read about a women's child being bitten by a poisonous snake on Disney Property and I started reading more and more and more about other encounters and I'm now  Especially in regards to us camping. The encounters seem to be much more frequent than what I originally thought. I have visions of just walking down the paths and having some deadly creature jump out from the shrubs and digging it's fangs into one of my kids. I worry for myself... but not crazily so... but when it comes to my kids I'm a tad neurotic.

Do I really want to be walking at night to the bathrooms etc at Fort Wilderness with the kids?????? I'm not to sure now.......

And now I'm really feeling hesitant about the water parks.... and Tom Sawyer's island... My oldest's sons two favorite places of all things!

And then their's the poisonous spiders... Black Widows! Eek! What are the odds of them getting into our pop up trailer???? If we're bitten, what's the likelihood that we'd die?

Again, I'm freaking out!

That is spooky!!!! What days were you there? We were there from the 13th until the 19th

Think it was from the 28th Nov to 6th Dec, we just missed each other!

Will sort them out for you :thumbsup2 I'm sure i've seen a thread that's dedicated just to Fort Wilderness as well someone on here, have you seen it? Will be lots of pics & hints & tips in there too!

Yeah, like you say - maybe do the BBQ this time while the kids are younger and do hoop de doo next time, I've not been to the BBQ but am sure its great!

We've never been on a cruise either. Yeah, sounds like a good plan to be able to rest after disney, it really can take it out of you :lmao: Our touring style is go go go, so we are shattered when we get home but its worth it.

Yikes!! You're getting me worried now :crazy2: No, seriously - you can't stress yourself out with all these worries - I mean, yeah, snakes & spiders are something serious to look out for but you can't control everything or worry about everything. Most disney visitors have probably never seen anything during their visit, but then you will get some people who have. If it's seriously stressing you out about camping, then could you afford to switch to one of the all stars resorts? So you wouldn't be walking around during the night outside etc... All you can do honey is just be aware that things exist & keep an eye on the kids :grouphug:
