Okay I tried this last night for supper w/my shrimp and YUM! TASTE JUST LIKE REGULAR PASTA! 2 dry oz = 1 serving and ends up being 5 netcarbs - but it was REALLY GOOD!

Thanks for the review, Sue! I'm not doing low-carb but anything you can cut back on and still get a great taste from is a good thing! I was wondering how this pasta was. I love pasta so I will have to give it a try. :)

I've tried it , too. I really like it. I'm even considering serving it to DH who does not need to be on Atkins to see if he'll eat it. It sure would make cooking dinner a lot easier if I could cook just 1 type of pasta!

You can get more info at Dreamfields . HTH. :teeth:

I have also tried this brand and loved it!! Not much different than real pasta, imo. I have had the elbow macaroni and penne rigate.

It's the only one I like of the low-carb pastas, and I've tried them all. My DH didn't taste any difference from the usual, so it has to be good.

I'm going to have to try this pasta.
Last week DH surprised me by buying Atkins brand pasta and cooking it for dinner.
It tasted like thick pieces of cardboard. It was sooo terrible. My dog wanted to try it, but I was afraid to give it to him. Nobody liked the Atkins stuff.

I'm not big on frankenfood. The only low carb product I like is the Dannon low carb yogurt in Raspberry and the new Blueberry. Other than that most other products stink.

I will have to give this other pasta a try though.

I cannot find it in any of our grocery stores around here.

Ok I just tried this.. I am a legendary hater of the fake atkins food
THIS STUFF IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
I made a 3oz. portion per person which works out to 7.5 carbs
I sauteed about 3/4 of a pound of shrimp with some garlic and the white part of a green onion, then deglazed the pan with some white wine and reduced it untill there was only a little left.
I tossed the pasta with the shrimp, the reduced wine, some lemon juice and a good sized portion of Creme Fraiche...
OMG it was delicious!!!!!!

Okay. I just tried Dreamfield pasta today.

I boiled it then mixed it with cooked cubed chicken, steamed broccoli, and a jar of the low carb alfredo sauce.

Wow! That is soooo tasty. We had it for lunch.

The only bad thing I have to say about it is right now my stomach is making some pretty weird noises. I'm not a "frankenfood" person. Maybe there is something in it that doesn't agree with me.

Has anyone else had this problem? It was tasty though.

I use it sparingly for Michael. I'm not REAL sure that it's as low carb as they claim, but it is as close to the real thing and Michael really missed his macaroni!

Now his favorite side dish is a 2 oz serving of Deamfield's spaghetti with melted cheese!

When DH and I reach goal, I will have to try this pasta. I don't care much for pasta but Wilgus loves it.

The one thing I have noticed is it's VERY hard to guess what a 2oz portion is, I have a very accurate kitchen scale and have "double checked" after guessing and I'm usually not even close. It would be really easy to over do it.

We tried Dreamfields for teh first time this weeknd. Used linguine instead of rice with crawfish ettouffe' (sp?). Great! It's not whole wheat, it uses semolina (sp?) flour. My parents are very up on carbs, because my dad is diabetic and VERY good about watching what he eats. Anyway, mom has been hearing a lot on the nutrition of semoline flour and by all accounts, the carbs are not converted to sugars.

We will be eating this a lot! (In small portions, of course. LOL)
