Dream Thanksgiving cruise Nov 23, 2015

THANKSGIVING DREAMERS

We just booked this cruise this morning. We have been waiting for Disney to release the dates!
We are a family of four with two girls who will be aged 16 and 10 by the time we cruise. My brother and his family will be joining us along with my mom and her husband. Possibly more families will join us. I am looking forward to seeing the ship, island and WDW dressed up for Christmas. I have never been to WDW at Christmas.

Disney grandma, disney grandpa, disney niece, disney boyfriend, Disney girlfriend. Just guessing on this but ME has me stumped.

This is what I believe they meant when they posted
DG=Dear or Disney Grandma,
DGM=also Dear Grandma,
DGP=Dear Grandpa,
DN=Dear Niece,
DB=Dear Brother,
ME= ? That's what they put so that's what I put. If you are not a DW or DH what are you?
+friend= I believe it is a friend of a girl so probably a girl

Has anyone made their dining reservations yet, those of us going to Disney before the cruise? I booked the first day possible (I think) and I got Sci fi dine in at 3pm for lunch and Boma 8:40 for dinner! I also purchased tickets for MVMCP. I am used to buying tickets to MNSSHP which are cheaper apparently because I paid $79 each for the MVMCP! That's more than I pay for a full day park ticket!

I booked Hoop Dee Doo and Beaches and Cream. Really wanted Ohana but couldn't get in until 9:10. I haven't cancelled it yet but that is a bit late for us. I booked as soon as I could too. I was up bright and early at 4:45am.

Wow that's early! I would have done that if it was just a WDW vacation but we only needed a res or two. I'm a little concerned how crowded everywhere in WDW is going to be based on the availability of dining times. Granted our reservation for Boma was for 10 people. We usually go to Disney in Oct so it's probably going to be more crowded then we are used to.

I can't wait for MVMCP! Hope to see you there!

Did you know that people embellish their magicbands? Some of them are really nice! I am going to have to do that, I think I will practice on some old ones that we have. But I won't let myself start this new project until I have finished the current project. So I have been working on my mom's FE and should have it done in a day or two.
That's how I motivate myself!

Is anyone planning on running or walking the Castaway Cay 5k?

I am, but by that point of the cruise I won't be feeling energetic and may just want to sleep in.

We got MVMCP for the 19th but I was surprised that ADRs were so hard to get, yes I was up at 5:45 as well! I usually don't have such an issue in November but couldn't get in with any princesses. ended up at least securing Spirit of Aloham T-rex and Tusker. I just told DD that the princesses were getting ready to go on the cruise so not holding court for any dining.

You should have no problem getting in with the princesses on the ship. I think that the app will even tell you where they are and at what time. It must be that the economy is getting better and more families are going to Disney now than in the past few years.

embellish Magic bands????? is that with stickers?

It's a thing! I just went to Magic your band .com to look at the skins you can customize and buy for your magicband. Just google decorated magicband and millions of different images come up! Everyone is making them personalized now! It's kind of funny because when we were at the parks last Oct. I didn't notice a single decorated magicband. I am going to add something to mine because they are kind of plain and boring. I'm not going to go overboard though because we will only be using them two or so days. I will probably just add some stickers.

I've seen speculation that they will be giving out the same medals that they gave during the special challenge weekend. (The plastic ones not the medal ones). I hope it's true because that would be so cool. They are really nice medals compared to what they usually give.

I am finally finished decorating my Mom's FE! It's not the greatest but it will get the job done. It has three pockets, one big one on top and two smaller ones on the bottom. I used spray adhesive and glued fabric to the clear plastic pockets. The plastic pockets were very wrinkly and it showed through when I glued the fabric on. Then I just added some ribbon and patches and a couple of foam stickers. I hope Mom and Tom like it.
