Dream Sep 4-7 thoughts.

After four Fantasy trips including the May double-dip, we went back to the Dream on Sep 4th ahead of hurricane Irma. Driving to the port I said they should change CC to be the first day. And they did! Thanks DCL! It was a strange cruise all around, but nice while it lasted. First stage show (Golden Mickeys) was delayed for 30 min due to "technical difficulties", but was then great. This was the smoothest cruise ever (deck 7 forward). Of course sometimes we did less than 2 knots. But back to port was even pretty calm. I called it a "dip and a half" since on Wed we turned around and went back to CC to get "150 cast members" according to the Captain. I got a photo of a small girl standing on a veranda table looking over the railing on deck 5 below us. Parents showed up right after I took it. And, when I went to GS to up my tips and charge to my account, I realized that the tip amounts that they printed on the tip sheet were calculated for 4 days, not 3, so l guess many CM's got paid for four nights, but that's fine with me.

Well, the cruise was originally a 4 night cruise. So that's the gratuities that were charged.

Aren't you supposed to get a refund for the day that you were not on board? I know Carnival does it (then it's on them and they take care of their staff).

Probably, but I think that's why the amount came out the way it did. The computers don't "get" that you were short one day, only that that cruise was a 4 night cruise.

Possibly DCL will catch those who overpaid. Maybe not.
