DREAM Sail Date December 11th 2011

We have a September 2012 cruise planned after this trip in December...I can't wrap my mind around that one...too far away. Even 213 days (seven months from yesterday....wooooot!!!) to this closer cruise is a little depressing, but sooooo much better than not having a cruise at all in our future.

Any FE progress? I haven't heard anything back yet.

We just booked this cruise.:woohoo:
This is our 1st cruise and we can't wait.
We thought we would try to book something in 2012 but I got lucky and won this cruise on a radio show.:cool1:
So we are believers that Disney Dreams DO COME TRUE:wizard:
We have added a stay at DW for 4 nights when we get off the ship.::MickeyMo
We are looking forward to seeing DW decorated for Christmas.:santa:

Where in Atlanta? We're in Canton.

Has anyone thought about extras like Palo's or excursions yet? I think we're thinking of Atlantis is Nassau and that's it.

We did Palo's on the Magic and loved it, but with this short cruise we thought just seeing the regular schedule on this new ship would be enough. Others' thoughts?:confused3

(And I'm not sure the adult dining on Dream is the same name.)
:scared1:

We will skip the Palo dinner this cruise but will be trying for a Palo brunch. That's one that we NEVER miss!

While I was on the Alaskian cruise my pm's were erased. I know that we are planning a dinner on the 11th of June in Myrtle Beach and that the list of people was around 13. If you were planning on meeting with us or would like to then please pm me again.

Hi!! Just booked this cruise. :cool1: This is our first cruise ever. I'm excited and nervous. We've been going to Disney for years but I know nothing about cruising. :upsidedow

I'm hoping my boys 14 and 11 will be okay going their sep ways since I see there are different age groups for different clubs. :confused3 They are so used to doing things together.

Looks like there are several of us from Georgia on this cruise! Where in Georgia are you?

I will have a DS11 - maybe your youngest and mine can hang out some, though I'm not sure how much I'm gonna be able to convince mine to use the kids' area.....

Don't leave Brent out! He will be 10. He loves being able to go around the ship with other kids.

Oh great! I'm looking up videos that people have posted on youtube of the kids clubs and getting the boys excited. :thumbsup2

I am in Centerville. Macon area... about 120 miles south of Atlanta.

Where are you guys from? Oh I just scrolled up and read your posts. So we are not too far from each other.

No, not very far at all!! We may even have some common friends!

And no, gydell, definitely not leaving anybody out! Glad to hear that there will be several onboard in the same age range!

So I tried to do a search but didn't find any answers..maybe someone here can help.

Is there a place on the ship where DH can watch sports? I guess the ESPN skybox is no longer? DH's main thing is football

This is our first cruise and we are looking and thinking of a couple of things to do at port.:confused3
Has anyone done the Stingray Adventure at Castaway Cay?
Has anyone done the Glass bottom Boat Tour at Castaway Cay or Nassau?
We thought we may stay on the ship at Nassau to relax enjoy the things on the ship.

The stingrays are pretty good. You need to do it at least once. Try and go in the morning.

The glass bottom boat at CC gets mixed reviews. We have never done it but know people that have and have seen lots of fish and then others that say that the waters are too murky.

We may get off the ship for awhile at Nassau but do plan on enjoying the ship since this will be our 1st time on the Dream.

My kids and my in-laws did the stingray thing the last time we were on CC, and my DS especially liked it.

We also plan to get off at Nassau for a little bit. I am considering the Hilton Beach Resort on our own, but I'm not sure if we want to spend the extra money for that. If we do anything at all in Nassau, it'll either be that or just getting off to walk around a little bit. Unfortunately, I really don't expect at this point for the ship to be empty enough to really enjoy the pool/Aquaduck without crowds. So many people on the main board are saying that they don't plan to get off at Nassau - I'm kinda thinking that everybody has the same mindset! Everybody has been there, done that, and just wants to stay onboard to enjoy the ship! Understandably!

When it gets closer to time, I will probably look for some recent Navigators and talk to everybody in the family about their preferences, and then we'll make a decision. Might also depend on what the weather forecast is looking like at that point!

Thanks for the info,
We may skip the Glass Bottom Boat and do something else.
We was told we should get off the ship at Nassau and walk to the shops and straw market. So we probably will do that and go back to the ship.
My DD is asking to go to the Chill Spa so we may set that up for the day we are at Nassau.

We've done the stingray tours at both Castaway Cay and Nassau. The Nassau one includes a 30-minute boat ride to Blackbeard's Cay, a small island with a nice sandy white beach that's not nearly as crowded as Castaway Cay. CC's stingray adventure is a more controlled environment and more educational, but we enjoyed both tours.

Haven't yet done the glass bottom boat tour, due to the mixed reviews we've read.

We enjoy renting bikes on CC and pedaling out to the tall observation tower for a nice view of the island with the ship docked off in the distance. There are water faucets conveniently located along the wide level bike pathway.

There is so much to do and see that I betcha you'll be signing up for another cruise before you leave the ship - and they offer a discount when you do that. See everybody real soon! :cool1:
