DREAM Sail Date December 11th 2011

Arrived home last night from our cruise, which was wonderful! Got to meet NCHuskers and share some information with her about the Magic Kingdom, since this is their first visit to WDW.

Castaway Cay was beautiful, as usual, but it was so windy that the parasailing and some other boating activities were canceled. Rats! We rented bikes and rode out to the observation tower for a view of the island and the Dream in the distance. Then we ate a yummy lunch and relaxed in a hammock at Serenity Bay. It was low tide and the water was waaaay out. The beach looked like mudflats.

We met some really nice people during our dining rotation. It was Don and Nancy's first cruise and they were impressed with how clean and beautiful the ship was, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the cast members. Dorothy and Emma were our other tablemates and it was also Dorothy's first cruise. She and Emma have been to the parks before and were on their way back after the cruise.

We had a really nice stateroom host (Coronado) who went out of his way to find our misplaced luggage when we upgraded to a verandah (no, it wasn't a free upgrade). Everything ran smoothly during the cruise except for the buffet set up after the pirate party. It was very chaotic and the CMs kept sending us in different directions, and we were given those hand wipes by 3 different CMs while trying to find the dessert line. That needs some tweaking, but other than that we absolutely loved our cruise.

I hope we get some more feedback here... anybody else want to add their comments?

First of all, it was absolutely incredible!! I am so sad its over. I could not believe how amazing the shows were. That was probably my favorite part. I'm so happy with the way the Fish Extenders went. I was prepared for only having one or two families truly do it, but everyone who said they would, did. My kids loved coming back to the room to find surprises. I will definitly do that every cruise.
My only "complaint" was the photographers. I had budgeted to buy the CD of all the images. We had just come off 4 days at Disney world and I bought that CD for $100 (50 off if you buy ahead of time). We got 175 images on that CD for 4 days. I did not feel like we had that many photos on the cruise CD. If you didn't wait in line to see characters, you really didn't have many pictures. There were random photographers for random shots all over the park, why were they not on the ship? I would have loved pictures of us in snorkel gear, playing in the pool, the kids in the kids club- everything! Oh well, other than that, it was wonderful!!!

Like the others who have reported we enjoyed our cruise and our special gifts. Happy to hear FE went well since I had never coordinated before. The folks that came us also had a great time.
Enjoyed the ship but I must say that getting around the Classic ships is much easier. One of the best kept secrets is to find Palos! We discussing that with a fewCM and they agreed.
For all of you first timers hopefully this will not be your last. DCL does an excellent job.
Now back to reality!

Can't believe our amazing week on the Dream and at Disney is over! We had a great time on the Dream. We were in the 3rd boarding group and took full of advantage of the short line at the Aquaduck. The kids loved it! We were impressed with the little upgrades on the Dream vs. Magic (wave phones, hairdryers, Detective Game, etc.). We felt the food was pretty good at breakfast and lunch but not overly impressive at dinner.

Thanks again to Tikihula for giving us tips for MK. We had a great first visit to the parks due to all her help and advice.

Thanks to everyone for the FE gifts. Hopefully everyone received ours. We delivered before some of the FEs were hanging up. We did have one stateroom steward tells us that the family had moved to a new room. Thankfully he shared the new room #!

We felt 4 nights is just too short and booked our next cruise for a 7 night in March 2013. Let the countdown begin!

Happy Holidays!:santa:

Hope everyone had a great sailing!

I don't think I got to meet many of you as at dining we we seated alone (not to mention the fact that we were at Palo and Remy so only did rotational dining for 2 nights).

Stacey was the leader of team Cinderella at the DVC meet though so we may have chatted and I saw a couple of FEs out on my deck which I imagine was you guys.

Can't wait to do another cruise, it'll be the Alaskan one in 2013 assuming they are sailing to Alaska then. :)

Hello Everyone!

We arrived home this evening from our wonderful Disney Vacation!!

As a first time cruiser I loved it! The boys loved it, including DH.:goodvibes but I got sick the first night  and didn't make it through dinner. My server was so sweet he brought my meal to the room after he found out I had to leave. It looked really yummy but I was still too sick to eat. :guilty: I missed dinner at RP but ate at EG twice! :thumbsup2 Every time the ship moved I felt quizzy. I took dramamine and then felt tired.

I really liked the adult only areas. So relaxing and quite. We really enjoyed talking with the Cast members and getting to know them. They were all so personal and by the end of our trip it was sad to say goodbye.

We tried to make all the shows but with everything else going on we only caught Villains and Wild and James (i think that's their names). They were pretty funny. :thumbsup2

I wasn't too impressed with Nassau. We jumped into a cab and visited Atlantis. Never thought they would pack us into the taxi-vans like sardines. :lmao: AND our driver was so scary I think I saw my life flash before me twice. :headache: But at least I can say "done that" :cutie:

Castaway Cay was amazing. I didn't get into the water but I hear it was freezing. The weather was beautiful tho. The lunch was yummy.

The kids had so much fun at the clubs. And they loved having ice cream and cookies whenever they wanted.

I did see quite a few FE and as I walked by I thought of all of you and tried to figure out who was who. They all looked great!

The highlight of the trip....... We are now DVC members!!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I'm still trying to figure out the point system, banking, and all that stuff.

Not sure when we will plan our next cruise..... It was wonderful but all that motion sickness really got to me. It took me a whole day to recover once we got off the ship. I still felt like I was rocking. :3dglasses Maybe after a few years I'll be up to it.

BUT I do need to start planning our next WDW visit...... AKL here we come!!!!!

:cool1::cool1:
