We got off the Dream a few weeks ago and was very pleasantly surprised that Disney has not lost their magic touch.

The ship is outstanding, the crew terrific, food is very good but most of all it was Disney at its best.

We did back to back and I highly recommend it if you are looking to enjoy the ship and not the ports, although we did get 2 Castaway Cay stops.

I will get into dailey reports at a later time.

The crowds were not unbearable,I was expecting a nightmare from some of the threads that I read here but other than the muster drill,we really did not experience any delays or discomfort.

We had a cat-4c 1st part and a 5a 2nd part. Our room host was outstanding both on the 7th floor and the 10th floor, they were there to provide anything we needed.

The new dining areas are very nice and laid out very tight especially Animators Palate, there was not alot or room to push your chair back but the show was outstanding there. You just have to get the feel for the ship and Disney before you say that something is not working.Cabana's was great as you just go from station to station and dont worry about staying in line and going through each one like a buffet, also they have now opened Cabana's even after it is not serving so that passage around the ship is not blocked off .The pools were busy and I do like the idea of the nice chairs with the high backs facing the video screen as they are more comfortable than the Magic and the Wonder set up.Never had trouble finding a place to sit even on seaday. The fast service places were always quick and little waiting.
Room Service however was a littl bit of a wait not so much once the order was placed but rather on hold trying to place the order. The wave phones were a nice feature and could come in handy with a family that likes to go its seperate ways.
The shows were very well done and never had a problem finding a good seat but be aware there are obstructed view seats in the balcony as some of the columns block the full view of the stage, but if you sit in the middle section or first couple of rows you will enjoy the production plus easy to get out after and you beat alot of the crowd from the main floor.
Our servers were very good,1st part server was brand new been with Disney for 6 years but always as an assistant, first time as a server and she was overwelmed, but her partner helped out alot and together we had a great dining experience.2nd part we only did dinner 2 times as we did Palo on 2nd night, which was long but outstanding and they no longer make you wear a coat for dinner, we went in golf shirts and they said it was just fine, however Remy you must have a jacket on,nice to relax that rule as a jacket takes up space and weight in the suitcase, but was well worth the $20.00 charge.

The shipboard activities are very well done the cruise staff does a great job to find something for everyone. We had Pirates of the Carribean prem-ear on the 20th and the 3D version is a waste, only a few fight scenes that 3D really worked, don't waste the extra money to see it in 3D if you have'nt seen it yet.

In the cruise terminal we never had a problem, were on the ship within 20 minutes of getting off the bus.

Well thats it for now, open to any and all questions that I may help you have a great Disney experience, and will follow up in a few days with a detailed trip report..

Enjoyed reading your review--We were on a B2B also (May 12 & 15). We loved our leisurely cruise and our 2 visits to Castaway Cay ! We also had 2 different cabins--we started off with a inside (had to experience the virtual porthole) and then a balcony cabin and I mean a HUGE balcony ! The Dream was a beautiful ship with a great crew --glad we were a part of the Inaugural Year !

Category 4C...How did you like it? Did you happen to have a Murphy Bed in addition to the pull out sofa and the upperberth, another words a Category 4C which could sleep 5? For those who slept in the beds other than the Queen(heard the Queen bed was quite comfy!!!),
were the beds comfortable? Did you find the Category 4C to be roomy? Did you enjoy the verandah? Was Deck 7 QUIET I HOPE??? I had chosen this deck purposely to minimize noise above and below decks....

Did you do any activities on CC? I'm sure you really enjoyed CC!! Can't wait for CC!!! :cool1:

Hope you had a great vacation!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes Thanks in advance!:woohoo:

Hi JerseyGal

I used to be a JerseyGal till I moved to Florida

We slept in the Queen Beds and they are the MOST comfortable beds EVER !

Our Cabin was on Deck 2 (very quiet ) and then Deck 9 (very, very quiet since we were AFT). My Aunt and Uncle had a Cabin 0n Deck 7 and said it was quiet !

We did nothing on Castaway Cay---just lounged at the Beach (Adult beach),swam, ate and walked around the Family beach a bit !
This was such a relaxing vacation for us ! You will LOVE the Dream !

Thanks Florida Princess(Former Jersey Gal!)....Sarasota is a BEAUTIFUL AREA! Guess you don't miss the cold winters up north!

Thanks for info on the Dream...Hope Deck 7 will be quiet!:goodvibes

Deck 7 was very quite and we had a great stateroom host, always was there when we needed him,all beds were comfortable although when the 3 beds are opened up it is quite tight, one bed runs the with and basically blocks the veranda, while the other 2 really tighten up space, not un managable but tight although it is just at nite,as soon as we went out of the room JR had then put away and wide open again.
The room was very comfortable and lots of storage space we had 4 adults and had plenty of room for everyone to un pack.

Shower was nice was the circular one that has an overhead along with the hand held, was a bit confusing at first as you have 2 seperate controls on for temp and other for where the water comes out,I felt the circle offered more room while trying to shower .Also has a seat built in so you could use for storage or just sit and enjoy the comfort.

All in all room 7112 was a very good home for 4 days and never had an issue with noise, did notice though that the elevators and stairs are not proportioned like on the Wonder and the Magic,on those ships Fwd,Mid and Aft are about equal distances throughout the ship,on the Dream Fwd and Mid are close but then to get to Aft I think you are going about half the length of the ship.

At CC we just enjoyed the beach, the weather was rough therefore no watercrafts were operating,But we found that although it is alittle hike the adult beach is well worth the trip, and food at adult beach has different selections and not crowded at all.

Hope you enjoy your trip
