I love:love: Disney Cruise Line but I am so disappointed:sad2: in the 2012 prices for the Dream especially September 2012! The prices on the Dream that came out for the first part of 2012 were fair but the prices for a 3 and 4 night Dream cruise in September (off season )are the same prices for April and May of 2012:confused3. I had to do some further research:surfweb: just to see if my Disney Tantrum was legitimate, so I did some research on other major cruise lines. I checked the prices on their top ships all inside cabins and around the same dates in September 2012 all the prices are for 1 Adult and 1 child, which for the most part would equal around the same for 2 adults. I am now SMH :confused:wondering why did I book the Dream for September 2012?I am definitely reconsidering. I am aware that the cruises are not Disney but the prices are fair and the itineraries are much better. Disney Cruise Line is a great cruise line but other cruise lines offer some great amenities as well! I think I may jump shipspirate:

DISNEY

Disney‘s Dream 3 night Bahamas -$1045.00
Disney’s Dream 4 nigh Bahamas-$1359.00
Disney's Dream 7day Bahamas B2B -$2404.00

Disney’s Fantasy 7night Western Caribbean-$2064.00
Disney’s Fantasy 7night Eastern Caribbean-$2061.00

Disney’s Magic 7night Western Caribbean-$1828.00

Carnival

Carnival’s Magic 7night Western Caribbean- $1134.08

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas 7night Western Caribbean -$1768.68
Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas 7night Eastern Caribbean- -$1848.36

Hawaii

Just wanted to throw in the cost comparison for Hawaii cruises for 1 A and 1 C in April of 2012
15 nights on Disney’s Wonder $4993.00
15 night’s on Celebrity Century $4547. 90
14 night's on Princess’s Saphhire$3514.54
15 nigh'ts on Carnival’s Spirit $3756.22

I would do a 7 day over a 3 or 4 day any day of the week.

Not familiar with Carnival, but we were on Oasis in Feb and LOVED it! Our girls had a ball and so did we.

I think one of the factors is that Disney has now realized that the inside cabins on Dream/Fantasy will command a premium. As a result, when you compare the lowest priced cabins, Dream/Fantasy will not fare well. When you compare Ocean view and Verandah, the prices are much more competitive. Of course, this doesn't help if you just wanted the least expensive cabin on the best ship! -- Suzanne

I agree with OP. I absolutley love DCL but I am going to jump ship this year. I had a 5 night booked for March 2012 for $3600 but comparable RCL sailings are going for a little over $2500. Thats a pretty big difference to me. I think we've decided to go on RCL's Freedom of the Seas for a Dec. 2011 instead. For the price that we are getting, we will be able to due a cruise/ park visit for almost the same price and that will be during christmas which I've always wanted to do. Mabey I will check out the Dream or Fantasy with the kiddos in 2013. DH and I are going for a 3 night in September for a really good price but I feel bad that the kids won't be there. They are super excited about the Freedom and are not at all worried that were not going on the Dream. Sometimes I forget that its their vacation too and spending time with them no matter what boat we're on is whats important.:goodvibes

The price of the Fantasy vs Allure/Oasis looks about right to me. And if you have sailed DCL before and had OBB the prices are basically comparable. Try doing this for other off season months like January/February of early December and see what you get.

BTW, also check if the CCL's price have the same terms as the DCL's price.
