Dream Month in review *Neutral Discussion about Dreams, Yavn, State of VMK*

Its my opinion. I still think she/he should be AT LEAST a little bit happy.


Especially since she got mostly everything except the pins.

firstly, Im a guy
secondly, I never said I wasnt happy, Im delighted I got the room (which is my favorite guest room) I love my ears, and I love the pins.
I dont however, like the way things were handled. I think its unfair to the people who havent gotten the dream the wanted.
I think it should have been done through quests, or at least have some compensation items for the unlucky ones.

A couple of casual observations from a latecomer who hasn't been on vmk for most of the month.

First off, why in the heck don't they do some of these host events in the morning hours instead of late afternoon and at night for EST folks? I have so much time in the late morning, early afternoon with the kiddos gone but instead I found myself up until 11:30 last night when everyone else is online. I'm just thinking that doing some of these in the morning would give some other players a chance instead of competing with everyone else playing at night when they are out of school and work. I realize nobody cares but just my pet peeve.

I also find it rather interesting that the people complaining the most seem to be the ones who have won the best prizes...just goes to show that we are never happy, huh?

I know for myself that I spend more time playing games to earn credits than socializing so it is unlikely for me to get lucky just doing my own thing. I know I haven't heard much about hosts coming to game lobbies but maybe I'm wrong. So yeah, the choice between earning credits or socializing and earning nothing to better my odds of running into a dream prize is a bit aggravating.

All in all though, I think it was a great promotion to liven things up around vmk for awhile. I know the summer water park stuff tends to bore the heck out of me and now we have Halloween to look forward to so yay for that!

Two nights ago I was coming off a pirate game and host Finny entered and we all got dream pins. What was really funny is there was a game starting when she entered and it didnt start right away since there was not enough people and then it started. Im not sure why they didnt wait to get their prize and why the last person even joined.

guys if we were notified that vmk would end tomorrow i think there would be mass banning going on here's why : THE FRIENDSHIPS!!!! : ppl would be giving screen names and phone numbers if they won't care if they get ban it was all going to end tomorrow i know i would be crushed if vmk would end not because i love the game that much i love the friends i have made and this game closing won't change that i'll go to the end of the earth to ( includes being ban ) to stay in contact with them who wouldn't do the same ( this goes for ppl who have friends in the game that aren't dissers )

I honestly believe that this month has been leading up to Yavn's 'big changes'.

His lack of newsletter updates could be to save it right before October begins and the Halloween celebrations so he could again release a list of Halloween items to be sold throughout the month. Also, i'm hoping that this long break is going to bring on news of the community leader program. I am a leader, and personally i'm excited to see what changes will be coming and who might be added to the long list of CL's.

Of course I could be completely wrong, but i'm still going to keep my Disney spirits up and believe!!

The big changes,I think, is that VMK is going to be available to those who pay money. If they, do that, they would have to upgrade it a lot and expand the vocabulary for me to pay to play.

I'm not into Dreams month, I tried the first week and noticed the incredible power of unintended consequences. It went from funny, to a reason to go play canasta.

I'm not wild about the dreams in park either, bur it isn't the same at all. There areen't posted hours Someone just walks up and taps you. Frankly I think that would have been better, if they randomized a winner and put it in their inventory, followed them to announce and disappeared to notify another winner. Then no need for stalking (which doesn't happen in the parks), camping, or other pointless time wasters.

I don't have a lot of meaningful relationship on VMK. I have ppl I regularly play priates with/against, like losing to Mal, winning with googlymoogly and some others. I don't chat online for a few reasons, the banning, BTW FRIENDSHIP IS a relationship! and the dictionary. Those who thinks censorship are wonderful can defend it all they like, but it does have a chilling effect on my conversation. I simply hate erasing and finding a word that vmk allows. Clearly, I'm not to have meaningful conversation withing the game (even gerneric and benigh), so I no longer try.

For this reason the month was particularly boring. And for this same reason, I would not enroll in a pay version. I like a nice in-game chat. I wish I'd get the ears and the castle room, but trying to find the hosts just makes me frustrated and this is supposed to be fun for me so forget it.

Trust me when I say that this most certainly does happen in the park

I find stalking the Dream Team on VMK much less tiresome than running around Disneyland hunting down the real life Dream Team

Either way, I have only have received Dreams, both real and virtual, when I'm just enjoying myself and not obsessing over getting something.

Pretty soon this month will be behind us and hopefully we will remember the good aspects of it and the not-so-good will fade with time.
