Dream: May 22, 2011

We are cruising on the May 22nd 4 night Dream with me - DM, DH and two DS's (ages 11 and 7). We have been once on the Wonder when oldest was 2 1/2 so we are so looking forward to the new ship. We are also DVC members and will stay at Bay Lake Towers after the cruise. Let the countdown begin.

What a small world (so to speak) - we'll be staying at BLT after the cruise, as well.

Welcome to the party and we'll see you in less than four weeks!

Ryan

Good morning fellow cruisers. Sorry to be a pain, but would it be possible for me to switch my day to Day 3 Castaway since it's not full yet? I was just going through my gifts and realized that some were for CC day and Pirate Night, so I should probably deliver them first thing on Day 3. Is this okay?

Hi dvccruiser76,
Day 3 will work fine for your delivery don't worry about it.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

Just checking in from sunny, warm, beautiful Florida! The Treehouse Villas are fantastic. We highly recommend them. If you like a quiet, private, peaceful atmosphere, this is for you. We feel like we're in our own home. The boat to Downtown Disney is just steps away and the pool is a very short walk. We have house #7021 and the interior ammenities are top shelf. Granite in the kitchen and natural stone in the baths, with all new appliances.

Wish you were here; don't want to leave,

Jim

DW and I have gone back and forth over whether we should stay with the kids there next year. We both very much want to, but I was concerned about how long it would take us to get to the parks.

Are you so far out that it takes forever to get to parks? :)

Hello-
I know that many of you are planning on meeting the night before the cruise, we actually are going to WDW for a few days before the cruise. If I had know earlier, then we would have worked it in our iteniary:(
I do have a question (as usual) for all of you that have cruised before, I booked us on an 11:30am flight home, I see in our cruise docs that we weren't supposed to book a flight before 11:25... Is the 11:30 flight too close for us to make???? My son has a baseball game on the 26th, and my husband is the coach, we have to be home in time for my son's game... Yes, we are "those" folks who have to plan around ball schedules... My husband wanted to see if he and my son could meet us in the Bahamas and board the boat then, so they would not miss any games!! Needless to say they will survive missing one game!!

Thanks again for including us and can't wait to meet everyone!!

OH, I'm sooooo jealous. :worship: I'm glad you got the opportunity to enjoy the treehouse, they sound like they would fit us perfectly. We may have to give them a try. I'm sure you'll hate to leave there.

You guys have a safe journey home.

As long as the ship clears customs for debarkation at the normal time, I wouldn't think you would have a problem making the flight. Off the ship by 7:30/8:00, an hour to MCO then time to go thru security, etc... You should be OK.
I totally understand working around games, etc..... Both of our kids played basketball and we were always going to games. DD was in a traveling league that played "off season" from school, so we pretty much went to games all year long. But I wouldn't trade those times for anything in the world.:cloud9:

The villas are for larger parties right? I'm thinking we may have to try it some year with extended family.

We're getting closer guys

Hi Ryan,
you would have to allow an extra 20min for the internal bus loop to Saratoga. They run like clockwork every 13 minutes for a 5 minute ride. There are 2 internal bus stops at the treehouses, both are a short walk from any unit. The ones at this end of the resort are most convenient for bus and boats which also run like clockwork about every 20 minutes to downtown and Saratoga.

We weren't doing alot of parks this trip so it didn't come into play. I have always preferred having a car at my disposal anyway.

These houses are perfect for cooking your own meals either in the kitchen or on the grill and having a more laid back Disney trip rather than the kamikaze park assault type. This treehouse was very comfortable for all 8 of us. I'll try to post some pics as soon as I can.

thanks for the info... I really didn't want to pay to change our plane tickets... but im sure my hubby would not think twice about it since it's for "ball" lol...

Trying to finish up the FE gifts, and of course I have a question.:rotfl2:.. Which night will be our pirate themed night??

I had my first official cruise nightmare last night! :lmao: I had a dream that Chance, Terra, Ash, and George were on the Dream, and that it LEFT WITHOUT ME! Luckily, It was only a nightmare!

SWEET! Just re-checked our car rental, and now have saved us another $30 for the rental! :cool1: I am still debating the convienience of parking at the port instead of parking at the hotel. I am STILL not sure! With the 30 I saved by re-booking, and taking the 20 off the park and cruise package, this might make it worthwhile for the convienence of just parking at the port.... decisions decisions! Somehow I dont think I will be finalizing this until like four days before we cruise!

MTMomma: Glad to hear you got a savings on the car. That's always
a "plus". And those dreams.....we all get them. I haven't had
one yet for this trip, but I'm sure it's coming!!:rotfl:

Doughmankc: Pirate night is on Tuesday night (the day we go to Castaway
Cay).

MelMathis: You asked if everyone was bringing stuff to snack on at the pool......If you want to
pick something up/bring something, I'm sure it will get eaten. Since we are driving/doing
the AutoTrain, I figured I'd pick up a couple of bags of munchies from our local producer,
sort of my treat since I am not participatinging in the FE group. Hey, we can turn it into
a great party if we want. If it rains, we'll move it indoors - but it IS NOT going to rain.

Only 22 more days till we leave!!!

Still no cruise documents! ARGH! I am driving myself INSANE right now! :lmao: I busted out the laminator just to console myself!

I feel your pain!!! We don't have ours yet either!!! :sad2: And we are even on the 5-19-11 cruise before this one!!

Spray glitter is soothing to the soul!(?) :rotfl:

oh and? I'm pretty sure I broke my pinky the other day at work. So of course I have a lovely blue splint, making me forever drink with my "pinkie up"

GREAT! every little bit helps. I checked on ours and got a $33 savings, then I check SWA coming home JUNE 4th and saved another 39 dollars. So far with SWA we have a total of $124.00 in credit to use by next DEC.If we don't fly down in SEPT., e-bay here I come.I was told yesterday that they did away with that JAN. 28th new rules : that only the person getting the credit could only use it, now he/she can give it away to whoever.
MTmomma ,the prices have gone up at CI&S , I was at one time thinking of doing the same[parking at port].It will cost you more now, way more then your stay there without the parking fee.
