Dream: May 22, 2011

And my Birnbaum guide came- I fully intend on reading that book cover to cover!

They already have a Birnbaum guide written up on the in's and outs, do's and do nots on the ship the DREAM already???? PS........I bet you are happy, those darn pirates beat my cubs 6to3 today.

Yep- the 2011 edition has info on the Dream. Amazing, right? And I don't follow baseball at ALL. That's what happens when you grow up with a baseball team like the Pirates :rotfl: I'm truly amazed they won. If we were talking hockey- I'd be all over that.

This is the up to date list. I would like to include any celebrations going on for each cabin, so if you don't see yours listed please post them and I will add them.

Jim, would you mind changing my parent's anniversary to their 35th and Molly's age to 2 instead of 1?

Thanks!

Ryan

Hey AAOSAM2, I'm on the same cruise with DW, DD and DDBF and my daughter will be turning 22 the same week. Congrats to your daughter on her 21st.

Philly! Of course.

WOW!..........and guess who wants to drive her new van to CRUISE/WDW now???.........You guys/gals been reading about the airplane things happening as of this weekend.Tops coming off a SWA plane, bad air on an american airlines flt.....not good....not good at all. Anyone want to buy some SWA flt.credit.........cheap!.....STAY TUNED..............When the "boss" speaks........the Hoosier Daddy listens.

Well DEAR , That big old Stanley Cup has been "hangin'-out" in Chicago for about a year now........and where do you think it will be next year?

Ah yes... the Blackhawks do have Lord Stanley at the moment. I rooted for them through the finals- anyone but Philly for me. (Sorry JohnnyQuest! lol) I'm hoping we can bring it back here this year- we're doing pretty well without Crosby and Malkin. We'll be fantastic when Sid gets back.

I had another question - cruise newbie here. Something in the Birnbaum guide caught my eye. It says "Except for tips, cash isn't accepted on the ships." Is that for everything and everywhere? Do the stores not accept cash at all?

You can NOT use cash anywhere for any purchase of any type, it all goes on that little KTTW card. The only thing you can use cash for is for your tips to your servers/stateroom host at the end of the cruise. If you purchase any beverages, that tip automatically goes onto the card with the cost of the beverage. You can use cash to tip for room service also. I think there is a method to their madness with that little card. Its so easy to just hand it to someone to swipe.
I believe you can use cash at the end of the cruise to pay off all those charges to your card if you wish.

Eh, personally I wouldn't cancel the flight just yet! Wait a bit and see, then decide. I dont think its going to wind up being a "big deal." A lot of SWA aircraft have had the fuselage (sp?) "skin" replaced in the last five years. In a fleet as large as SWA, it is incredible that there is aprox 81 that havent been "re skinned" in the last five years....

Hooray at least I now have my GTY cabin, no pixie dust though still an 8D and on level 5 aft very near to the kids club so at least that is very handy!
Only one downside is that reports say that these cabins are very noisy as the Evolutions club is right above and many people have complained about noise until 2am!
My hubby will not be happy so I won't tell him at all!!

Us, too! I just checked this morning and we finally have our cabin number, 6148 ;) Johnny Quest, you can add our number to the FE list now, hurray!

Thank you! I had no idea about this- never saw it mentioned anywhere other than in that guide. It was probably in some fine print I didn't read.... Well- good to know!

Anyone on our Dream cruise going to book any of those new cruises that are opening up on the WONDER and the MAGIC tomorrow or friday? I have my eye on that 15 day cruise out of LA to HAWAII next April 29, 2012.

I would assume we'll have the following options in the big theater:

Pirates 4
African Cats
Mars needs moms
Gnomeo and Juliet

From looking at recent Navigators they'll probably throw another catalog title or two in the mix... any guesses?

Paul

we are thinking about next may or march on the new fantasy for a 7 day. we have also considered doing one on the wonder or magic. question, are those ships in comparison to the newer ships as far as the rooms and activity areas, i know they are older ships and smaller, any thoughts on whether to go on new one or doing the older ones.

The cruise out of NYC to Canada is very tempting to me.. I've always wanted to go to Nova Scotia.

We're also looking at a 5 night Canada cruise, probably in July '12. I'm hoping to get my mom (84) and Don's mom(86) to go along with us. Neither one of them has ever been on a cruise. It should be interesting.

And, only 43 days till we leave.....:cheer2::cheer2:
After this week's craziness at work, I definately need this vacation.
