Dream: May 22, 2011

You are not the only one. At least you have your supplies. I have not gotten that far yet. I do not sew so I am having to follow the no-sew instructions. This may take awhile. Next week is Spring Break here so I am planning to get started. Hope it turns out like I want. :confused3

I *think* I know how I am going to make it, darn perfectionists anyway! I have had the thories and practices of quilting drummed into my head for YEARS! *sigh* I will be spending a few hours hand stitching the bias-tape to the back, because "god forbid" I have a seam showing that is crooked! :rotfl::rolleyes:

I applaud you for making your own! I am very "crafty" but have never learned to sew  so I had to order ours from eBay!! I do love how it turned out, though.

I'm cool with the schedule idea :thumbsup2 I'm still hoping we'll get our cabin assignment before we sail, I check every single day, lol. Nuttin' yet.

Welcome FlightRN! Where are you staying pre cruise? How ya getting there? (insert cheesy grin) Yeah I'm nosey! :lmao: The night before cruise a bunch of us are staying at Country Inns and Suites..... and having a "little" after dinner gathering pool-ish party.......

I'm not sure yet. In December we drove down and stayed at the Country Inns, this time we're thinking about flying. Trying to decide if we do fly if it will be day before or day of. If we end up at the hotel I'm definitly in for the meet and greet.

YAY! our after cruise plans are Finalized! Aparently Terra and Georges' families have decided that since we will be in Orlando anyway, that they are all going to meet up the day we get off the ship! Terra and George will of course stay in the area until the 30th, and Chance, Ash, and I will fly home on the 27th. George works for Best Western up here, and got us the "employee rate" rooms near KSC..... WHOOOHOOOO I am all for saving money! Now we can make use of our second day of KSC tickets, and kill some time before our 5:45pm flight......

My family will be on this cruise. This is our 2nd disney cruise, our first was waaayy back in 2004. My husband asked what I wanted for our 20th anniversary and I said "DUH.. A Disney cruise". We have 2 boys... 9 and 12. I was thinking of trying to find them some boys their own age so they would already "know" somebody on the ship. If anybody has boys the same age and they would like to email them or if they play xboxlive, pm me and we can exchange info. Can't wait for May to get here!!!!

Disney finally released the passholder rates for May so Cristy and I have made our pre-cruise and post-cruise reservations!!! We will be spending three nights at Coranodo Springs before and three nights at Contemporary after. I am so ready for this vacation to get here... having pixie dust withdrawals :rotfl:

We are still cat 8 GTY and anxiously awaiting our room assignments... however from past experiences I am not expecting this to be done until we are within the 30 day window (but that doesn't stop me from checking daily ) Is anyone else GTY?

By the way I have enjoyed reading all of your comments and can't wait to meet you on the DREAM :wizard:

OK guys, stupid question, is it better for me to drop Terra, George, Ash, and Chance off, with luggage (two staterooms, two seperate but linked reservations) and return the rental car, or could we get away with going to budget, returning the rental car, and EVERYONE hopping onto the shuttle? I dont want to miss any of the sequence, simply because its the first for all of us to be on a cruise.....

I just found out about this website last night from a friend. I feel so behind and out of the "cruise loop"
I have booked excursions and spa treatments, but that's it!! Where do I need to start, do I get fish extenders.
Do I get gifts to give others in their mail?
Should I get pirate wear for dinner?
Where do I get stuff to decorate the door?
I am totally new and totally confused!!!

First off, Welcome to the DIS! You will catch up quickly!
To participate in the FE, just let us know your stateroom number, and the ages of the people in the stateroom (names are helpful) and we will add you to the list! To give, feel free to give little trinkets, items from your homestate, or funny little things. It depends on you, and how complicated you want to make it, or how simple. Then, on ship, (it looks like we are doing this on a schedule) you deliver your gifts to other participants in our FE exchange.
The adults in our particular group of staterooms arent dressing up for pirate night, maybe just a bandanna or something.
You can decorate the door any way you wish, however, DCL requests that it is done by magnents only. There are members of the DIS in the "creative" section that will make magnent images upon request, then all you have to do is print them out, and put a magnent on them!

Have you decided how you will get to port? Have you decided where you will be staying pre-cruise? Over 40 from this group alone are staying at the Country Inns and Suites, so we are haivng a mini-gathering at the pool after dinner.... I will be arriving sometime after 8-pm. Plane lands at 7-ish, pick up rental van, load luggage, make a booze stop, (possibly pick up a celebration cake!) and on our way to the hotel! Decisions Decisions! Let us know!

Flamin baby jesus on a cracker! Will I EVER stop second guessing myself? :rotfl: I priced out our mini-van rental for the entire week, and its only a little bit of a price difference (more money) BUT there is unlimited miles. This is a good thing, as we had a 125 mile limit on the one down, and a 200 mile limit on the one back..... I would HATE to kick myself and scream and whine about overages..... so I talked to my travelmates, and we added the park and shuttle option to our reservation, AND canceled our two reservations and made one minivan week long rental.

Flamin baby jesus on a cracker! .

NAOMI!!!! Where did that come from???? I can honestly say that I have NEVER heard that one before...............It definately got my attention and dropped my jaw..:rotfl:

Next, Welcome to the new cruisers, glad to have you sailing with us.

Ummm I have quite a few of those..... I think that one started out as flamin baby jesus on a dinosaur..... and morphed into the christ on a cracker statement. It initially started out as a passive aggressive way to tick off my hyper-religious extended family.......Now its a running joke with our family. I truely do not mean to offend others.... Ill delete it if it is offensive.

Naomi, no offense taken. It actually made me chuckle. I figured it was one of those "regional" sayings that no one outside your own territory ever hears of. I know we have sayings/words that we use that other people look at you and say "Huh?".

We're still GTY as well ;) The last time we went that route we got our assignment about 2 weeks before we sailed. As long as I find out before we show up, I'll be happy!!

We're headed to the Boardwalk after we sail. My boys are over the moon that it will be Star Wars Weekend!
