Dream: May 22, 2011

Oooohhhhhh DON!!:lmao:

:thumbsup2 KRIS , I was looking over you guys past history at staying at Disney Resorts, and I see you guys stayed at Dixie Landings alot from 1992 till 1997. So that started me to thinking I just wonder how many times we all crossed each others path there and did't know it. We also stayed there from 1992 till 1997 well over 60 times easy.We bought into DVC and OKW in 1997. It's a small world after all.

Don: Yes, we spent quite a bit of time at Dixie/PO-R. It was and still is our favorite resort. We've been at POP the last couple of trips, but plan on returning to PO-R for the Nov '11 trip. It is very possible we've "crossed paths". Most of our trips are in either October, November, a couple in January and occasionally April or May.

Jim: Thanks for the video link.

I can't wait till the Dream starts sailing in January to get the "goods" on her.
I've seen our room location, but so far there are no partitions between the verandahs in that part of the ship (6690). Hopefully they will be installing some.

So, after checking into what exactly we are doing, we will be landing in orlando at around nine our time.... this is okay for me to drive us down to the port, so we canceled our buena vista suites hotel, and booked the CIS.....
Got the rental cars (two rentals, one way) and our hotel before we fly out of spokane. Now I have to find a hotel to stay the night we get off the cruise! Our flight doesnt leave till 530-ish on the 27th....... so we are trying to figure out WHERE to stay! Any ideas? We will be doing kennedy space center when we get off the ship, and arent planning to do Disney itself.....

We'll be on there it'll be our first cruise ever. It's DH (35), Me (35) and our DS (7) from Whitwell, Tennessee. I'm booking next Wed so I'll post our cabin # then. We're driving down the day before and staying at the Country Inn & Suites on the 21st.

MTMomma - welcome to the CI&S "gang". Can't make any recommendations near Kennedy space center, but I do recall there being hotels/motels in that area. You could always just stay in Cocoa or Cape Canaveral and driving up to the space center. In Cocoa, we've stayed at the Double Tree - very nice but can be on the expensive side, Comfort Inn & Suites is cheaper, but not the best room experience. It was moderately clean, but not our first choice.
The Sheraton 4 Points was pretty nice and at a decent rate, only downside would be the pool which is small and in a corner of the parking garage.

GoofyCrazy - welcome to the cruise and the CI&S gang.

Hi Melissa,
Welcome to the "May Dreamers Double Deuce Cruise". Let me know if your family would like to join our Fish Extender gift exchange. We have a nice group participating. It should be fun for everyone.

:) A BIG, BIG WELCOME goes out to Melissa and the two guys in ker life.I think we should have a PR-Cruise party at CI&S Sat night the 21th. We will [as of right now] be driving down from Indiana starting Fri. the 20th all so.This will be the first time we have drove down since way back in 1995. DW, KATHY and I don't like where those TSI guys at the airport have got to put their hands to check you out. NOT COOL , NOT COOL AT ALL.

Thank you. A PR Cruise party sounds great. It's about a 10 hour drive for us so we're going to leave early Saturday morning. May 21st of this year we drove down to WDW. We left at 10:30 pm on the 20th and it rained on us from the time we left home until we got past Macon, GA. I don't mean that little drizzle rain either. It was pouring, severe stuff. I would have been terrified but my hubby is a truck driver and I knew that he could handle it. The whole week at WDW we had beautiful weather but when we headed home on the 30th wouldn't you know it, it rained. After we decided to go on the May 22nd cruise we laughed and said it'll rain on the way down but we'll have beautiful weather until we head back home.

Welcome Melissa!
I would love a party, but alas, I will be rolling in well after most of you are in bed.... I guess its a good thing im a night owel anyway?:surfweb: For everyone driving long distance, drive safe, and keep the dirty side down! :woohoo:

I certainly hope the CIS is more Klassee (yeah I went there) than the Motel 6 is! :lmao:

Naomi, Im normally up till around 1am. You can join me near the pool (if its warm out) for a nice cup of coffee or tea, to sit and relax a bit. I would imagine you'll need a bit of relaxation after a long day of travel.
Dh on the other hand will probably crash by about 9pm. He's getting old you know, can't handle the night life.;)
We stayed at a CI&S in Gettysburg, PA about 2 weeks ago and we were very happy with our accommodations. From what I've read on the disboards, the one at Cape Canaveral is pretty decent also.

DEAR......FYI , CIS at the port is "TOP SHELF".There is no comparison.
:thumbsup2....Like the Motel 6 commercials...............we will leave the light on for you. :lmao: :rotfl2:
........INREF: To you coming in late on the 21st ,not CIS quality.
Nevermind.... I really need to learn to read before typing!

Oh! what did you say????

Poison and I are now considering driving also. These new "hands-on" security techniques are bull, or maybe I'll just let them put me on the internet - full frontal. Sounds like fun!
This CI&S party has potential also. We already have a room booked just in case.

Husurdady - I was thinking since your already driving, you could stop in Pittsburgh and chauffeur us right to the CI&S party in your shiny new van.(LOL)
What a party that would be!
