Dream: May 22, 2011

Husurdady - 7:00PM it is!! Oohhhh, I can't wait for some of those broiled rock shrimp. If you haven't had any of those, they have a flavor that is a cross between shrimp and lobster. Dipped in melted butter they are heaven.
DH likes the oysters also.

Wow, that is going to be a long day of travel. If it were me, I'd go with staying at the Hyatt. If you went to BVS, it would be after midnight till you would get there. Jim's suggestion sounds the easiest. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Like I posted, DH and I enjoy travelling via the AutoTrain. You and your car board in Lorton VA, the train leaves about 4:00pm. We normally get a room/roomette. Once boarded, they have complimentary wine, cheese & crackers and veggies & dip in the club car, then we have a nice supper with wine at about 7, watch the movie in the club car, head back to our room which is already made up for the night, go to sleep, wake up in Florida, have breakfast then get off the train at about 8:30/9:00am if things are on schedule. If they aren't, it's no problem as we are in no hurry. There are no stops along the way, it is a straight shot. No one gets on or off other than in Lorton, VA and Sanford, FL. Granted, flying is much quicker, but we like the relaxation of train travel. It gives you a chance to unwind from everyday work and stress to get ready for our vacation.

One more decision made! We decided to drive to Spokane the night before, as we can stay at the Wingate at GEG airport for 99 (suite) and it includes the park and fly option. Parking for one vehichle at the airport is 48-65 depending on what lot you are in. The group has decided its much easier for us to drive over and stay the night, and technically its not THAT long of a travel day, just a really really long layover in the vegas airport! One place my child has been that I have not! LOL. We are looking at the Hyatt voucher, still undecided as far as that goes.

In case you were wondering. Poison and I are the mad hatters and my son is in the black cape. We're all wearing shades in preparation for the Double Deuce Cruise.

MTmomma,
You could reserve now at the Hyatt without being charged and always cancel later. Just state you want to reserve on the stay certificate rate. These rooms are limited and may sell out.

:goodvibes BOY ! that train ride sounds like fun , and interesting too. I just wonder if Chicago has one like that to the south, I know they have the WILLIE NELSON [song] special to NEW ORLEANS.Don't know if it carries peoples cars a long with or not. Anyway we will [I think] , be driving down this year.......and guess what we ordered WED. afternoon............times up. A new 2011 honda mini van. It will, and get this,be made down in LINCOLN AL. some time between 11/07/10 and 11/11/10 I told Kathy may be we should go out to the gambling boats [theirs 5] on lake MICHIGAN and play some with those numbers. And we[other then bingo] don't even gamble. And of coarse, the airplane tickets went up another 40 dollars last week, that alone [x 3] will pay for our CIS night stay at the port, then after the cruise back to home O K W for 9 nights. JIM's pictures has us in the mood NOW! :thumbsup2

I can post my pics of my 2 room suite at Country Inn at the port. If anyone needs to check it out let me know.

Jim

Jim,

We decided to upgrade to a verandah cabin, so we're now GTY for a cat 5D. I'll let you know our new cabin number for the FE exchange as soon as they assign it, will that be okay? I was just on the Wonder in September and it was about 3 wks before that I found out my cabin assignment.

The rest of our info is still the same!! I need to get going on my homemade FE gifts, only 6 months to go :cool1:
