Everyone has put alot of hours in on a holiday weekend and of course stress and repetetive reminders will wear peeps down.

This is an entire month, and thats what the warnings we all kept getting from VMK were really about. they werent trying to get you just out of a room, they were tryign to get you going about your business and not stressing over the ears or the room.

Advice I need to take too. But I do have to tell you I had so much fun with 2 totally different groups of people on 2 totally different days.

But, if you start to feel the stress the best thing you can do is walk away from the game for a bit.

I totally agree. I had so much fun with people the last two days. It was nice to chill in rooms again and see people I have never met before.

Now to take the VMK Dreams to reality, I was in WDW for two weeks in July and received no Dreams. So while it would be great and I would love to receive a dream from VMK for my girls and I since we had no luck in the real parks, realisticly I am not going to chase the staff for it. I may sit in a room for a few hours and hang with new friends, because remember what is VMK about to us anyhow. Making friends not the junk that it stored, although I would love a new room share with my friends.

CL_BriarLori, I stopped by your room for a while yesterday and it was very nice to be able to spend some time there. I was tired of hearing the same "Has a Host been here yet?" question over and over everywhere I went, so I understand the frustration. I'm sure I would have done the same thing if I had to answer that question time and time again.

I went to your room after I received a warning from staff in my messages (not a room pop-up message) because a child in another guest room that I had been in said that she was in Middle School. I was warned if it happened again, I would be banned. Well I am much too old to be in Middle School and I was not part of the conversation. The message came so quickly from staff after she said it, that I didn't even have a chance to do anything about it. I came to your room because I knew I could get an answer as to whether or not I was at risk for getting banned for this incident.

I also had the chance to Laurabearz' Cool Room that evening. Lots of great people there and the costume game was very funny. Unfortunately, I had such terrible lag at the time so I was not able to join in the conversation until the room began to empty out.

Yes, I booted you. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if you tell me how RUDE I
am for being sick and tired of every Tom, Rich and Harry coming into my
room and the first thing out of their mouths is:

"Did you get a dream today?"

No, I didn't get any dreams today, and I don't like having people ask me every
moment if a Host will show up. I had no clue if a host will show up, and I
can pull at least half a dozen DISers into this thread stating how often I
said:

"No, I don't think hosts will show up." "I wish you all would stop talking about
the dreams."

I snapped because I just wanted everyone to shut the heck up about the
dreams.

I also made a side bet to see whether you'd post on the DIS how mean and
awful I was. I think I won that bet.

Sorry Briar, but that is kind of rude. How would Jason know that you've been asked that question all day? He doesn't read minds. This whole thread could've been avoided by just saying, "Nah, I don't really care about the Dreams."

Wow. I'm sorry you were booted with no explanation as to why, personally, I think that was wrong.
Briar...I know that it's "your room, your rules" and that's great! But, I think a warning would have been much better than a boot. Sorry. I know it's frustrating to have to answer the same questions over and over again, but it comes with the title. (I tried to warn ya! LOL)
Myself, if I was that frustrated by all the "did you win dreams" questions, I would have either locked my room or went to someone else's room to hang out, or maybe take a vmk break at that point. (I have taken vmk breaks, btw...when running my quests.)
Maybe you could put something in the room info about not having won a dreams prize? Then maybe Jasonpwns would have known he made a mistake in asking that question that everyone is asking.

I booted Jasonpwns after he told us we were rude. I didn't boot him for
asking if we had a dream yet. The minute he started off on how rude we
were, he was gone.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. At one point yesterday I had to hold it in to keep from snapping same as you. 200+ queue and 50% of them asked "Did staff visit/Are staff coming/Do you know where staff is?"

Thankfully I was able to convince most of them to stop worrying about that since there's still a whole month ahead of us and just to hang out and have fun.

I was in a friend's room tonight though and she was doing the auto-boot for anybody asking if staff was coming or if anybody had gotten dream ears. I think many of us who know better are picking up that attitude.

I answered Mims about when I booted Jasonpwns, and it was because he
told us we were rude for being sick of people asking us. The happened at
the end of the evening, so I had reached my saturation point. I was
pretty tolerant for most of the day, but I think I found the straw that broke
the camel's back.

I had to tell a lot of people that I don't have Hosts on my friends list, and
even if I did, it would not be fair to ask them to come give dreams away.
The promotion was meant to be random, and it wouldn't be fair to do that.

WOW, I think a lot of you have really let this "VMK Dreams" thing get the best of you. I really hope everybody can deal with the events that have taken place and move on.

Thanks, Jazz. I wanted to also let you know that I booted more people out
of my room yesterday than I had done in the ENTIRE TWO YEARS I've been
playing VMK. Seriously.

I hope you also realize it wasn't just the comments about the dreams, but
telling us we were rude because we were tired of people asking. Under
normal circumstances, I would not have booted you.

See I think this whole Dreams thing is just going to be the straw that broke the camel's back...so to speak. I know I am wondering if I want to even bother logging in to just get my daily credits this month. I can imagine how crazy it would drive anyone to have to hear over and over again the quest about the Dreams and Hosts. Which is another reason that if I even log on for my credits it will be just for that and I'm off. I don't want to see all the whining and crying and other things being done. This month is just going to bring out the worse in to many people. Not saying this of Lori or anyone else here for that matter (at least for now. ) but it is just going to be a bad month all around in the game with how the greed will be brought out in many and if you have won whatever you better hide it cause you will end up bothered for it even though its not tradeable. This was not a good idea for a month theme. Sadly I can see how the questions and talk about it being said over and over in rooms is going to make a bunch of us nuts. As it is I have to leave the HM rooms and come back at times cause I get sick of all the "move and ghost will come", "talk and he will come", "I'll give you cookies if you come out" and so on. I only go for my credits cause I don't always have time to play a game or whatever to earn more then the daily but if that gets annoying at times this whole month of Dreams is just going ot be a nightmare in most rooms.
BTW, Lori thanks for letting me hang out for a bit in your room. I don't usually go around to many rooms unless I'm in a questing mood. I saw your name so I figured I'd spot by to say hi to you and whoever else from the board might have been there.

I sat in our Virtual Cinderella Castle last night.. I was kind of worried about dream winners hanging with us waiters, but I never booted them for it, I booted blockers and stupid answers to trivia I ran..

But seriously folks, if you enter a room, and everyone is chillin (most being silent), do you REALLY need to know if staff came? Obviously they didn't. The room we were in had about a dozen castle top chairs, and if they weren't throwing me requests wanting them because, "I have so many", they were attacking dream winners with, "Where did you get them? What room were you in?" And then they disappear to the room that most likely wont get prized again for the rest of the night. No complaint here, I celebrated when the disappeared lol..

Most of the time when the greed spoke for people, and I heard, "Has staff come here yet?" I'd answer a few ways:

"idk are there cloud ears above me?"
"would we be here if they did?"
"Nope, back to stocking huh?"

My only dream was that staff would actually show up after the greedy people went back on the hunt lol.. Juding by counter watching, I think I'd rather have a few people in the room rather than a line.. but I don't expect to win, not in my room anyways.

that Cruiselinefan rocks at Disney movie trivia. And for the most
part, people were well behaved. I booted people who either insulted me or
told me how boring I was. And I booted those who I didn't know
who only wanted to know if I had seen a host, if I had hosts on my list, etc.
They only seemed to want to be there to camp out for a host.

Truth be told, I would have rather had a visit from any staff who would have
considered the room for Best Guest. I want to submit my quest room for
Best Quest, but would that be considered greedy for trying to complete a
goal?

Just wondering.

I actually don't see this "month" as greedy.

Usually with my schedule, I can only be on VMK sparingly just to pick up the latest stuff so as to not fall behind in my collection. What this month has "forced" me to do is to sign onto VMK for large blocks of time to hang out in friends' rooms.

Sure, it was the Dreams Items that "got" me into the room, but it was the friends and conversations that kept me in there.

And I don't see it as GREED. Greed is hoarding huge numbers of items to benefit yourself and throwing hissy fits when you don't win an award for the umpteenth time. What this is, is folks hanging out truly hoping that they can get a chance to win a new cool item.

What about several months ago when we had Host games? Would getting into the queue be considered greedy?

All in all, I think this is a good month. Have I won anything, yet? Nope.

My bad buddy girl! I wasn't trying to insinuate (sp?) or directing a comparison to you or anyone speaking about the event (unlike the post above me), I know you pretty well in the game, and know first hand that you're one of the sweetest girls I know!

I'd put anyone on my personal poo list that treats you wrong!

Somehow, I feel you're directing your post to me as I do in fact have "hoards of everything", and get disturbed when I feel neglected by staff.. don't be jealous of me or people who win lots of awards and want more, it's the way we are.

Secret to my success is park accounts. When I go to the parks.. I usually leave with about 15+ park accounts waiting for me when I get home. I never trade, and instead, gift and quest out the black ears I accumulate (sp?). I'm totally greedy. You're just another hater that I have to deal with that chimes in whenever I speak.

Well hmm. I was in her room and I had an awesome time. Truth be told, I am more of a pirate game player than anything else and this current promotion has gotten me to go back and visit friends that I don't normally see. I just have to say how great it is to just hang out, answer some trivia and just visit with good friends.

I had forgotten how fun it was or can be. I have been so obsessed with getting credits lately that I didn't have the time to just visit and I realize now how much I miss it.

Thanks to all of you for just letting me hang out and chill. I look forward to more days of doing that even though I know that a host may never visit any room I am in. At this point, I am having way too much fun seeing everybody and hanging out. Some of you are so funny I just laugh until I cry.

My favorite question of the night? "What is the rarest thing in VMK?" My answer: a host

Ok I am mad because just now I was in a room that some dis person I won't name owned and I asked

"Did anyone get dream items today?"

And I got booted! Just because she didn't get anything for waiting 11 hours! It's her fault for waiting that time just for an item when it's all month.

And now because my friends are camping out in rooms waiting for host they won't come see my new room. Most of the reply were

"Is there a host there?" or
"Is It Full So A Host might come?"

Or lastely

"Sorry im waiting for a host in a room so I can get dream items."

I don't know about everyone else but I just want one of everything.
Is that greedy to want just "ONE"?

I don't think that people are being attacked if they are asked "did staff come in here yet"; it is a natural question under the circumstances. To get mad about the question this early in the month speaks more about you then the person asking the question.

Muling is against VMK values. If you get 15 each time you go to the park, then I am sure you have hundreds, if not thousands of accounts.

For the record, I am pretty "greedy" myself. I hoard with the best of them. But I never get to the parks and I do not mule. Yet, I still am able to buy 40-50 of each weeks pin and 50 or more of each item that comes out.
