Also, if you FF to 7:30 in this video, you will see the cabanas from the water including the new ones. Now I'm a little concerned because it looks just like a tiny tidal pool and A LOT of sand bar in front of those cabanas. I wonder if I should request a lower #d cabana?!

cashe - great find on both videos. Esp the one of #17. You can see that changing curtain rod which wraps around. I am so glad the umbrellas extend now. I hated that about the later numbered units.

You are correct. You have a small tidal pool and a big sand bar in front of you. In this one video you posted earlier - he's standing in that pool.
Here's a good video showing the newest cabanas 18-21. Fast forward to 1:00 min in

I've looked over my photos and all I can manage to find are a select few of that area. Your cabana's section of beach starts beyond the volleyball net. (look thru the middle of the umbrellas and you will see it.)
You can all see that's the sandbar area pretty clearly.

Thank you Poison Ivy! Do you think i should watch for a lower # to pop up and move? His video showed a LOT of sand (tide may have been out, i don't know)

I do like that they've added umbrellas and chairs though! that will be so nice!

If you're concierge you can put in a request now. I've heard they hold some back.
I don't know what to tell you about a lower number. I would, but I'm partial to the section before that sand bar. It's really a personal choice.

Hi. When you say "if you're concierge you can put in a request now", do you mean when at 125 days or before that? Sorry, I want a cabana
but not sailing until September so very interested in exactly what I need to do. I'll be putting my request in at 12:01 am at 125 days out (but
earlier if I can for a cabana LOL).

Also, are the prices for SB and FB cabanas different?

Thanks.

She said that because I've already done my requests. I sail in May. She was saying if I wanted to switch cabana #s to just contact concierge now.

Yes. SB are like 450? Family beach are 590.

js - yes, as cashe mentioned, since your booking window hasn't officially opened up yet, you have to wait for the 125 day mark to reach out. Afterwards, you can contact shoreside concierge directly to make any changes.

check out this cabana #17 video. Excellent. It's from Nov 2012 - before the new Cabanas have been built, but really showcases them nicely.
Funny, he glosses right over that changing curtain, but hopefully everyone knows which corner of the room it's in.

enjoy.

I just realized when he zooms and does a panorama of the water and beach lines you can't see the volleyball net.

That's because the net sits in front of Cabana #11 which wraps around to the left when he is at the sandbar.

But it really gives a perspective of how much family beach area the cabana's take up. I'm wondering if there isn't a closer bathroom down this end than the one by Cookies Too?

Do people actually use the sand volleyball net? My boys would love to play sand volleyball but I didn't know if that would irritate the people who have cabanas by the net.

If you have a cabana, then the volleyball net is pretty much fair game, I think. Of course it would be nice to have them be careful not to send the ball careening into someone lounging on their hammock - although I would guess it would be far enough away! :-)

it's actually angled and a decent enough distance away that I don't think it interferes at all.
It looks closer here than it is. The other photos I posted earlier are better at showing how it's in an open area.

We had Cabana 15 on 1/24/15. Actually booked it just the day prior when we heard the wind would be fierce. I was surprised a cabana was available, so we took it! Cabanas 16-21 were actually VACANT that day-- I couldn't believe it. That "tidal pool" was actually the best possible location that day. The other beaches ended up getting closed due to the high wind, but ours remained open. We took the innertubes out to the far side of the sand bar, and the wind blew us back towards the cabanas. The wind was probably 35-45mph! Cabana 15's hammock is nicely protected from the wind by thick vegetation, making it the perfect retreat! They pretty much had to drag us off CC, while the other guests were back on board right after lunch.

You are amazing! Thank you for reporting back! I feel so much better now!

I'm posting this here since we've looked at so many cabana videos on this thread.

This is Cabana #8. At the very end they venture out front and video the golf cart path. You can see how far away Cookies Too is from this point.

Anyone stay in Cabana 1. We want less crowds if possible
We stayed in Cabana 1 on our December 2014 cruise on the Fantasy. I have mobility problems and the Concierge team called for a pick-up at the end of the exit ramp to take us to the Cabana. When our day was done they called and we were picked up and taken back to the ship. The Cabana is really nice and easy to get around and we can't say enough about the service.

Yes, Cabana 1 has a hammock. My 3 year old GS spent quite some time in it. This Cabana is so close to Cookies 2 that we brought all of our lunch items back and ate inside. I'm locked into HA items and this cruise was to fulfill a promise to my wife when GS was born. She didn't get to see it, but, she was there in spirit. We stayed in Suite 11000 and were very happy. I live on SS, but, am saving up for another next April. Its rough, but I buy gift cards all of the time. This time we'll be in 5E HA in the aft. Probably no cabana, but, just being on the ship is worth it. I've been on quite a few cruises before and this was the best by far.

We had cabana 6 at Christmas and at times it was challenging to float anywhere but out by the rope line. The water rarely was over 2 feet deep m

The Royal Suites have one. But there may be one in the concierge lounge too?
