Dream Concierge Question

Planning on doing 1 bedroom suite and am leaning towards deck 11 because of easy access to pool, but am curious about access. It looks like deck 11 and to some extent deck 12 require you to walk through adults only area to get from rooms to rest of ship. Is this going to be a problem with a 2 and 5 year old with me?

As long as you walk through with purpose and do not stop, no problem.

Walking through the adult zone with children in tow is not an issue. They can’t stay there but can go across without a problem. Of course, they should not run or make excessive noise. We haven’t had a problem in Cove Cafe also, but we were just there long enough to get our coffees.

Just pointing out for the OP that technically children are not supposed to be in Cove Cafe. Does it happen? Sadly, yes. And the CMs don’t want to get negative reports, so they don’t say anything. But Cove Cafe is supposed to be 18+.

The same drinks are available for everyone at Vista Cafe on Deck 4.

We have done the deck 12 rooms and never had an issue. From deck twelve, technically you can stay in the all ages areas if you desire. When you leave the forward elevators on deck twelve you are in the general public area. The adult areas are above on deck 13 and below is the adult pool/cove cafe. The area up to the funnel puddle is all ages so it is fine.

On occasions we have cut through the adult area on eleven and never had problems. On a couple of occasions we also took the forward elevators to thirteen and walked the short walk forward to the concierge sundeck. As long as you are not lingering no one will question you.

Not sure if it matters but for us the enclosed verandas is the big issue. So deck eleven is a “no go” because of that item. Also, it was mentioned about stopping for coffee in cove, but the concierge lounge has the coffee machine so unless you want something REALLY special, and for $$, I would not expect a big reason to go to the cove or vista.

Deck 11 verandas have a plexiglass partial enclosure around them.

Since I never have or never will be in one of those rooms I can only say check around at the different websites and on here for pics and cabin reviews. It has an upper enclosure and only a strip of open area. Below is one pic from another website, sorry it is the only option I have on sharing what it looks like.

If there are still rooms available on deck 12 I recommend booking one of those instead. Like mentioned above, the balcony is partially enclosed by glass and for that reason I won't ever book on those rooms. It's also much more convenient going to the lounge from 12.

We stayed on deck 12 and enjoyed it because we were near the concierge lounge. We could pop over to the concierge lounge get something to eat and bring it back to our room.

We've stayed on both deck 11 and deck 12. We did deck 11 on our last cruise because I've had terrible luck with noise when staying in staterooms that are just below sun decks. I LOVED deck 11. It was so quiet. There was zero issue walking through the adult-only areas (we did not go to Cove as we used the coffee machine in the lounge) and the lounge is only one floor up. I didn't mind the verandah, either.

We’ve done the Dream twice on 12 in the x18 cabin across from the Concierge Lounge. There was never a noise issue - either from the hall or from up above.

We have always stayed on deck 12 and are super light sleepers...we have not heard an iota of noise on any cruise on that deck . You won’t regret your choice!

We thought we might be a “one and done” with cruises after the first one we did a few years ago which was Marvel Day At Sea...well, that backfired. Now we seem to have become hopelessly addicted.

I wouldn’t worry a bit about access- they know that you literally have no choice but to go through those areas to get to your room with the way they’ve designed the ship.

I do concur with those that advised looking at the deck above (12) if you think you might prefer a completely open verandah, though.

Hmm, I will need to look up which room, I can’t remember off the top of my head. But it’s the Dream.

I have been the anti-cruise obstacle in my family, but it’s 3 vs 1 and I can’t hold back the pressure any more! My youngest is now 5, so it seemed like a good time to give it a try.

Even though I was the one with the, shall we say, negative attitude about it, I have to admit the research and excitement for something new is quite fun!

And now I’m worried I’m going to love it!

Needless to say, from that point on we either took the elevator to the 10th floor or 12th, and then went over that way.

I would choose 12, just because people can be so horrible.
