Dream Castle Hotel - Yea or Nay?

My family and I are returning to Disneyland Paris in April - and are considering staying off property as we just weren't that impressed with the Disney Hotels. But - we love the proximity to Disney Village - easy, quick dinning options for the little ones. Are there "counter service" options near the Dream Castle Hotel? We don't mind a walk (15 min.). Thoughts/ experiences?

The Dreamcastle is just behind the Santa Fe. It's about a 15 minute walk to Disney Village where the restaurants are.

There are no restaurants near it other than the one inside the hotel and the neighbouring hotels (Kyriad, Exporers and Macic Circus).

There are shuttle busses that come every 10 minutes that will drop you off at Disney Village.

The hotel is fantastic. It's a cut above the likes of the Cheyenne and Santa Fe but is a similar price. The breakfast is particularly good and the option of the pool is always a benefit.

One thing I would say is that it doesn't quite have the magic feel that you get from the Disney hotels.

Thanks for the info! So is it a pretty easy walk to Disney Village, or would you just recommend taking the shuttle? We've got two little ones who will be in a double stroller.

To be honest, we stayed at Sequoia Lodge in February and it didn't feel very magical... But that might be because we are accustomed to staying at WDW resorts... From the photos we have seen of Dream Castle, it looks better themed than the Disney resorts. This will be our first time staying off property on any of our dozens of Disney trips.... Should be interesting!

I would just take the shuttle back and forth to the Village in the evenings from the Dream Castle, you'll manage fine with the strollers etc :).

We stayed in the Dream Castle in November, loved our room and bathroom etc but its a fairly generic hotel, I wouldn't say it has a great theme. I also wasn't a big fan of the hot offerings at breakfast, although there was plenty of choice for the continental options.

In my opinion the Explorers has a better theme (the Atrium, the kids play areas, the fabulous swimming pool), but the rooms aren't as nicely furnished as at the Dream Castle. No hot choices for breakfast unless you pay extra at the Explorers. However, at the Explorers there is a patisserie stall, and a pizza bar which isn't too bad price-wise for Disney-adjacent. You can visit this hotel for food etc if you're staying at the Dream Castle (they are next to each other in the row of 4 associated hotels). The Explorers also has a happy hour in their bar early in the evening too.

We stayed at the Sequoia on our last stay, and aside from the meet and greet in the morning with the characters, I was pretty unimpressed with the rooms. Our room had the HARDEST bed I have ever slept on, and the bathroom was really dark.

Thankfully, we didn't spend any time in the room other than to sleep!

I have stayed at SL just once but was not much impressed with it.
We were upgraded to a Montana Room but the window was on the SL car park so not a good view...
Plus it was very much noisy at night and the beds not so confy...so would not go there again.

Yeah the characters were nice, we got to see Mickey just after checking in! And now that you mention it the beds were a bit uncomfortable.

I was sad to see that the hotels at DLP weren't up to par. We wouldn't dream of staying off site at WDW!

I stayed there a few months ago and really liked it! I thought it was just as good as the HNY just without the disney extra. We had no issues with the buses and got to the park easily however I wouldn't like to face them in busy season. It only cost us £160 for 3 nights!!
