Dream 8/18-22 Fish Extender Group

Getting FE's sorted and figuring out packing. We talk every year about driving down, and taking our time. then we figure, gas, motels, and food vs. more days at Disney. I only recently heard about the train, would love to hear more details, it sounds like the best of both worlds. This is our first cruise so super nervous but excited. I heard the cabanas go within minutes of opening up. DVC and returning cruisers get an earlier booking time. love the mickey duct tape... curious to see if we did the same thing with it I didn't book a special dinner at Remy, but already feeling regretful. i'm sure you are in for an incredible treat. Had my daughter pull all the clothes she wants to bring, and was able to convince her to leave the high heel boots (for pirate night) at home. there are a few newbies like me in our group and I wanted to make sure you know about getting items signed by characters. if you drop off a book, pillowcase, picture frame, tee shirt with CS desk, in a plastic bag with fabric markers or sharpies, and your name and stateroom, it will be returned to you signed. I think you pick either princesses or mickey and friends (some people request both).

I am a DVC member and wish I knew I cold book excursions earlier - I'm a silver castaway club member. I was thinking about high heeled boots for pirate night too don't know how comfy they will be though. I think I'm going to do pillowcases for the kids. What have you all done before? Are tshirts better?
I'm going to start my lists tomorrow!!!!! Can't wait - almost feel nervous because it goes so fast!!!

I love the photo mat idea!!!! Do you include sharpies too? Can I do a photo mat and pillowcases? The last time we cruised on the Dream, the Aquaduck broke during the "at sea" day, so we got an extra day at Castaway Cay!!!! It was awesome!!! What are the chances of that happening again?! Maybe then I'll get a cabana!

How do you pack up all your FE gifts? Do any of you send down a box ahead of time? You can do that but the labeling instructions are pretty specific. If anyone wants the info I will search for it,

I was making one for myself anyway, so I thought I'd just scan and share.

ETA, I also added a summary tab to the sheet with the numbers of adults, kids, males, females, etc. I haven't started sorting all of my gifts yet and I think those are the numbers I needed the most! Gott double check everything this weekend and start packing! only 20 days to go!

I'm lucky because I'm not flying. I plan to pack my FE gifts in one of our rolling carryons.

AS much as this sounds like an awesome idea for us to join, unfortunately, we cannot. August is our "biggest" month of the year, because it has our daughter's birthday, and our Anniversary. But this August is super tight, because we have my Grand-mom's 100th birthday celebration. My college roommate's 40th birthday party in upstate NJ, and our family reunion in South Carolina.

And we don't even have our room numbers yet. So with all that going on, it would be kinds tight to swing off the budget of 1 (wife being a SAHM). But if possible, i would like to meet you guys. Some, i've briefly talked to in the past.

I have visions of her tottering over the edge , really just too big and heavy to justify one evening and i'm sure she'd be out of them soon anyway. just happy she listened to reason. everything I know about signing up and having stuff signed I learned on Disney sites. my daughter loves alice, so I had someone on ESTY make her a alice pillowcase and bought fabric pens. if you are having something signed that isn't paper, you must provide the special markers. I would do it anyway to get the colors and variety on books or mats. i don't know about limits, but it would make sense to have one. i have to imagine some poor cast member(s) locked in a little room at the bottom of the ship with hundreds of items to sign! Lys is reviving up the sewing machine today to make our FE. i washed and ironed the material as my contribution. has anyone else checked out the menu's for the restaurants?

Hi all ... just returning from a 4-day weekend in Williamsburg VA with the family. Sounded like a good idea 3 months ago when we planned it when we were thinking "lets do something fun with the kids mid-summer before the cruise" -- in concept great idea, in reality, wowzers -- now there are only 2 weekends left to plan for THE CRUISE.

Totally agree - welcome to our group, and we'd love to help "spoil" your beautiful family. For those of us who have "extras", do let us know your children's favorite characters AND room number if there's a way to post once you know it. Hope to meet you on the ship!

As if this trip wasn't exciting enough already, my family got chosen to test the new Magic Bands and FP+ system on our land portion of the trip! I can't wait to try it out!

Congrats Jessica. My hubby was very jealous. We are DVC members and got annual passes this year so we were hoping that increase our chances into the lottery pool.

LOL. I'm packing today and thank God we are taking the Auto Train! I'd never get all this stuff on a plane! I went a little overboard with the FE gifts, but I had so much fun and so many ideas I couldn't help myself! I don't have them all packed yet, but I can already tell they will need at least a suitcase to themselves!

I am doing all my prepacking laundry this morning, then plan to start packing this afternoon. Three more days of work, then a day to finish final preparations and drop the dog off, then off we go!

Packing is happening at our house too. Pre-trip/pre-start of school hair cuts this afternoon and prepping the list of toiletries not to forget to pack next Sunday morning.

I think we over did the gifts too, but I had so much fun. We are up to two filled small carry-ones. they are going on the plane with us and not being checked. I was afraid of breakage!!
