a few belated replies...

ornaments are a great idea - we'd LOVE that if you decided to proceed!

will post my kids' fave characters asap - we have not told them about the trip yet but will soon, and will confirm their faves. sorry for the delay, and would love it if you don't mind posting to the google doc like you mentioned -that's great.

shutters is cool - better than photo pass in the parks because they are taking pics all the time and (believe it or not) use facial recognition software (which is why they take your pic as a family at the port when you are leaving) to match your photos with your cabin. there are batches which sometimes get lost/never matched, but for the most part it works great.
last august i did buy the package... "just in case"... not knowing how the photos i took would have come out. i did have buyer's remorse in that i had taken so many great photos on my own that i didn't really NEED to have bought it, and honestly i was not all that impressed with the quality of their photos. plus, very frequently, they had automatically included a frame/graphic/date which i didn't like at all... wish the pics were clean w no graphics... so my assessment is that it's a great backup or a great alternative to carrying around your own camera all the time (esp. at castaway cay) but i probably won't purchase again.
the one exception for me is... we did do the family portrait session w/o a character and ended up using it for our family Christmas cards, so i was glad to have had a professional/digital copy of it and they do not let you bring your own camera for that one.

We will also be on the cruise with you. My husband and I are taking our sons' families on their first cruise. Is everyone planning on doing a surprise for everyone in the cabins or just for the children? I read something about alcohol but wasn't sure if everyone that was everyone's plan.

I'm getting excited but don't want to ramp it up too much because when the cruise gets here, that will mean summer is almost over! Don't want that!

Thanks for your input. This will be our first Disney cruise. Ideas are appreciated.

I really can't wait to meet all of you. I am finished our cabin gifts and almost finishing up my little boy gifts. Lots of other components for the girls and moms & dads in boxes ready for assembling.

Now we can say we are going on our Disney Cruise NEXT MONTH!!! Yeah

Were the kids excited? We are working on our count down on the calendar. We always start the full calendar page before go so this year it was July 1st. Stickers on each day and we use it for counting practice for our little one -- how many "sleeps" to go and how many days we have been counting.

Hopefully once the last family gets their information to us we can start finalizing our FE plans.

Looking forward to meeting you and your family. Are your kids going to the kids club? My girls are 9 & 6 and will probably be in the same rooms together.

Hi all - My kids and I are working away on FE gifts now, and are curious if any others might be posting their character favorites - especially for kids! Katelyn & Emily? Azn & Aria? Brady & Parker? Let us know

Has anyone ever met up with their FE group, and/or have a suggestion on when/where would be a good place? I'm guessing the Day at Sea might be easiest since everyone is around with less of an agenda that day...?

Last time, my kids loved the kids club, but didn't spend much time there at all... mostly just because there was always something else/better to do! They LOVED the midship detective agency - definitely try this, especially if your kids are old enough to adventure around a bit on their own. They check in at the kiosk, and then there is interactive art all over the ship that provides clues to solve a mystery. It is so cool, and it is different every time they do it (different sequence, different clues) so they can enjoy it multiple times.

Another thought for new cruisers... if you are interested in getting a preview of the breadth of options available each day, you can google to find "personal navigators" for recent cruises - this is the guide they leave on your bed each night to outline the schedule for the next day - showing schedule in kids clubs, family activities, dance parties, character sightings, etc ... but if you want to be impressed/keep it a surprise, forget i said anything!!

Could you mail a case of them to the ship? I used to do that when we went to WDW when AJ was in diapers. Probably easier than packing them. I know I have seen threads about mailing stuff to be delivered to your cabin here somewhere.

for diapers/other baby supplies, i just noticed this option on the cruise website... i have no idea on prices/etc... but wanted to make sure you knew this was an option also (guess less hassle but more expensive!)
