Dream 5-Night March 4, 2012

Just got off of the 4 night Dream cruise yesterday! And now we are booked for this 5 night Dream cruise next year. This will be our 12th cruise.

Two stops at Castaway Cay sound wonderful! :)

We had a great time, great service, food, weather, everything. We did have a nice breakfast at CIS, not really rushing, there's no rushing with a 32mo :) I think we got to the port around 11 and finally got in the terminal 11:45 or so. We hope it's not so crazy this time too, but we still had fun, it was worth the wait.We met another couple on the cruise meets for our last cruise and they were from Canada also eh ;) I'll start up a "kids thread" in the near future so all kids can get to know each other before we cruise. I did that on our last one , Rogan really liked it. She'll be 9 next year and Evie will be 3.

Our eldest Esme (11) would no doubt like to chat nearer the time. We're struggling through her desperate need for facebook at the moment!:headache:
Our youngest, Alice (nearly 7) may enjoy this too. She's very sociable but can very extremely shy at first. Getting to know some kids beforehand may help.
Both girls have said they're not going to want to do much with out us (:rolleyes1) Think that may change when they see what's on offer.

Welcome westjones!
So glad you had a great trip! I assume you did if you're booked again!:goodvibes
I can't wait 'til the 5-nights start sailing so we can read some more about those.
We've never cruised before but everyone seems to love CC so much I can't wait to get there!

I cancelled my 5 night Aug.7, '11 last week and booked this cruise today. We (all four of my "kids") have wanted to go to Alaska and are doing that...not Disney in Aug "11.

Two of my "kids" will be on spring break for our new cruise; they are the two who really want to go. Another may come depending on her job and my oldest doesn't care. I feel pretty good about this reservation as a go.

Hi there Joan4mickey! Welcome. Alaska sounds like a wonderful cruise. We couldn't swing it this year. Definitely looking forward to some sun next year during our long cold winter!:goodvibes

Hi- We are also already booked for the March 4th Dream! This is our first cruise and I can not wait. We were talking about it on Tuesday and were booked by Thursday!!! We don't have any kids, but are excited to take advantage of everything this ship has to offer.

Jumping "onboard" here....We booked this cruise while on the Magic last month and cant wait to check out the new ship:thumbsup2. It will be myself, DH, DD5 and the in-laws on this trip. 4th Disney Cruise, 2nd Double Dip(went Last May on the Wonder)...THEY ARE FABULOUS!!!!!. Thinking we are going to go to Atlantis this time around. Counting down the days here already...I MISS THE BOAT and its only been a 3 weeks since we got off:lmao:

Hi Stephanie and Christina!

It's So Exciting when new people join, 'cause it makes it seem closer!:thumbsup2
Of course it's still 11 months away but we're excited over here anyway:yay:

Christina - you said you might do Atlantis this time. What have you done in the past? It's our first Disney Cruise and we were thinking of just hanging out in Nassau, rum cakes/pirate museum/some time on ship. Would be interested to hear what you've done in the past.

And Welcome Stephanie to the newbie corner! It's all new to us and to be honest a little overwhelming with all the info here. Just adds to the decisions! Having done WDW a few times i'm pretty well clued in there but the cruise thing is like starting again!

Welcome to you both,
Anita

We are thinking of doing Nassau on our own. Since this is our first time we want to see more than just the regular excursions. We are really excited and can't wait. We are thinking about trying either Remy or Palo. Does anyone know which one is better?

This will be our second Disney cruise. It will be DH, 3 DS(ages 8, 6 and 1 1/2), DD(age 1 1/2), my parents and I! I am looking forward to see how the new boat compares to the Wonder. We did Atlantis on our own last trip and booked the cheapest room at Atlantis and spent was less money than booking through Disney. If we do Atlantis this time we will probably book the room at the Comfort Inn across the street from Atlantis(is this is still offered)because with that room you also get into Atlantis free.

Do they still do fish extenders on the Cruises???? We LOVED those and want to do that again:)

Now that we have the cruise booked I am totally obsessed with these boards. Is anyone else doing a WDW stay before or after the cruise?? WE are thinking of doing a short stay before the cruise.

I think we are doing a couple of days in WDW before, although DH has mentioned that he might also want to do a couple days after as well. We will see what he decides on I guess.

Hi Lisagirl, Yes it is quiet around here! I guess because it's quite a long way away. Am sure that will change as the year goes on. As a newbie to cruising I'm also here a lot!:goodvibes Less now than the first month after we booked! That got close to the obsessive!:surfweb:

We are currently booked at CIS for the night before we cruise. We were thinking of doing WDW after. Reading around and thinking about it more, I think we're going to look for a flight (when they come out!) to bring us in a couple of days before, and do wdw then. Lots of people say it's more relaxing that way:thumbsup2 It's our daughter's b'day on Friday 2nd, so it would be nice to be there for that too. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the flights look like though.

I've been a little quiet here recently waiting for the new itinerarys to come out. We can drive/train to NYC so were looking forward to saving on flights. Having worked it out it will cost much more than flying and PC cruise! And we REALLY didn't want to give up the double dip!:dance3: So we're here to stay!

So..fish extenders! A source of amusement in this household! It took quite a while for me to find out what they are and we'd started to have a family guessing competition!
I can't actually say the words now without us all bursting into laughter! That said, it sounds like a fun idea. Obviously it takes a lot of time beforehand, but does it use lots of time onboard?
Who's done them and what did you really think about it - from your point of view and the kids?

I think the same as you Stephanie, we are going to do Nassau by ourselves. Being our first time. Apart from Disney our trips tend to be to big cities, and we are used to exploring. We're not really excursion people. From what I've read not many people like Nassau, but we're going to discover that for ourselves!;)

Nice to meet you all. My family thinks it's amusing that I have joined this group. I'm not a very socially confident person and they think it's funny I keep welcoming people! I guess on the computer you can chat while still hiding in the corner!:rotfl:

Bye for now,
Anita

Just looked at our dates on disneycruise website and the March 4th 5-night double dip is now listed on the website as being on the MAGIC not the Dream. And not double dip. :scared1:
Waiting to hear from TA. Don't want to panic you so would someone else check it out? Maybe I'm just being stupid! I'd happily wear the idiot hat just to say this isn't true! :upsidedow

Hi,
TA says it must be an error and there have been a lot of them today! She says she'll report it to Disney when she calls, but I won't be totally happy 'til I see the website return our lovely double dip!
Sorry for the panic! Anita

Fred- my heart just sunk, but glad to hear it is most likely an error!

As for the Fish Extenders- It could be a lot of work beforehand it just depends on what you decide to make/buy. We did an FE exchange on our last cruise and the kids LOVED it. I mean who doesn't love to come back to their room and find mail and goodies everytime:) I can't remember how big our group was but it was def. at least 30 cabins which took some time to pass out the gifts. It was our first cruise so we were new to the whole thing so it probably took us a little longer to hand everything out. It is a great way to explore the ship. If we do an exchange on this trip I will try to be more organized with my delivery system!!!

Once we get more active hopefully other people will chime in about the FE's.

So this is my first cruise, what exactly is the FE???

The FE(Fish Extender) is kinda like a shoe orgaziner(just with bigger pockets) that you hang over the fish outside of your stateroom. The families/couples that sign up for the FE exchange deliver gifts to the other staterooms that have signed up. Some people do 1 gift per stateroom, some people do an "adult" type gift and then kid gifts too.

There are threads for the FE on the disboards so def. check them out. They have pics and explain it much better than me:)

Thank you so much. After I posted that I Googled it and found all the FE disboard posts. I am totally in and excited. Oh yeah DH said it was fine. lol. I guess that means WE are in for those of you who are also interested.

ARE WE THERE YET????:lmao: For all you cruise newbies you will absolutely  Castaway! 2 days there is just absolute heaven! Our first cruise last May was a DD on the Wonder and it seemed to be the best of everything....sea day, BEACH and a new place for us. As for Nassau first cruise we did the Dolphin Encounter :lovestruc:love: at Blue Lagoon then attempted to explore the city with DD3 in a stroller:scared1:. In October we left her on the boat and went to the Fort and did some shopping. Be warned the Fort is SMALL and uphill to get to it in the heat. Looking forward to finally checking out Atlantis this go around. Before the question comes about there was a "dress up optional" aka semi-formal night on our sea day. We will most likely definitely sign up for the FE's this time to...DD loves it:banana:. CANT WAIT TO BE ON THE DREAM!!!

Hi everyone:) I'm sure everyone's heard of the New York cruises:cool1: We would LOVE to do one of those some day :cloud9:. But the prices have to come way down, they probably will when the newness wears off.
We're also flying in a day early and staying at the CIS. Now I need to book my budget rentals, just need to find a good code. The one I used last year was the DIS code? I'm not sure yet what were doing after the cruise, probably just check out cocoa beach. We definately have to go back to Cazoni's pizza . We loved their pizza.
I'm also going to make the girls a cruise journal , and of course magnets for our door!!! Sooo much fun , planning for a trip:cool1:
