Hi Jenene! We have been on Carnival and Holland America, I think that's it. We have not done those cruises together as a family, but our individual reports never hold up to our Disney experiences so that's what we do together, although it's been a while!

I am really interested to see if our experience on the much bigger Dream is any different from the Magic and Wonder.

My DH and I took a Holland Am. a few 3 years ago without kids. But always knew if we brought the kids.. Disney would be the most interesting cruise for them. HA had a kids program... but my kids are Disney kids from birth so it was a no brainer. Beside the kids/adult beach sounds so perfect. Hope we get two days there!:thumbsup2

:cheer2:We just booked last week! Can't wait!
We are taking our 3 year old Princess with us!

What kinds of things do you put in fish extenders? I'm thinking about joining but wanted to ask first.:confused3

I have a few questions on what to pack:

Do we have to bring beach towels?

How dressy is dinner? I saw some pics of guys with jeans on so I was just wondering.

How about the girls...Very dressy or dressy casual?

What about pirate party night...Do the kids go dressed in their costumes?
Any other tips on what to pack would be great!!

I have a few questions on what to pack:

Do we have to bring beach towels?

I believe beach towels are provided at castaway cay. I'm bringing a couple for the kids incase it's cold and they want to wrap up after swimming. Anyone else know if the towels at castaway cay are substantial in size?

How dressy is dinner? I saw some pics of guys with jeans on so I was just wondering.

I think the 'rules' are no tank tops, shorts or swimwear at dinner. And I think it's an unwritten rule to avoid jeans :goodvibes

How about the girls...Very dressy or dressy casual?

Anything you're comfortable with abiding by the above rules. Dress-up night dressier. I believe you'll see anything from smart to tux on dress-up night.

What about pirate party night...Do the kids go dressed in their costumes?

Again anything goes. You will see people not dressed-up at all, in pirate t-shirts all the way to full costumes. Whatever you feel comfortable with and are prepared to carry!

Any other tips on what to pack would be great!!

My answers are in black above.

I have never actually cruised before, but the above has come from what I have read over the last year or so! Hope it helps :goodvibes

Found this definition of cruise casual from a veteran cruiser on the boards.

"Cruise casual--women--capris, long pants, casual skirts, sun dresses for women--look nice but not dressed up.

Guys--dockers and polo shirts type things

Formal/semi formal--your cocktail dress will be fine for both nights, or you can do a gown. You husband will be fine in a suit on both nights or can go all out and bring his tux. We've been seeing a lot less "all out dressing up" since the airlines started charging for luggage. You will see guy in everything from tux and military dress uniforms to suits to shirts/ties. Women will be in everything from "prom gowns" to cocktail dresses to church type dresses. You won't be out of place whatever you decide".

Hi ahym,
I know you can't PM just yet since you are so new. If you wish to join in on the fun of the FE just let me know and I will need some info from you and will then add you to the list. I will need the following:
Dis Name
Cabin #
# of Participants
Names of Adults
Names and ages of children

It is a blast and you will just love it. It makes for a great trip! If you are traveling with or without children it does not matter as everyone loves being part of it!

Just let me know!
Adam

As you stated in the reply, the ship provides beach towels. They will be handed out to you once you get off the ship. Take as many as you wish. There will be locations to return the towels before you board the ship at the end of the day. The towels are regular size beach towels and of good quality beach towels, so don't pack any. Save space and weight for other things.

Any suggestions for excursions for a 3 year old girl?

At Nassau, there is not much to do that will entertain a 3 year old, except a beach visit. You can look up the Nassau excursions and get descriptions of each excursion by visiting your reservation and looking up excursion activities. You will most likely decide to stay on the ship and enjoy having the ship to yourself, at least for the morning. In the afternoon, people start to return to the ship and it gets crowded on board.
As for Castaway Cay, there are many, many, many great things geared toward family and children. I would not be able to begin to tell you what is available, so I recommend the same, look up the excursions available on Castaway Cay.
