Dream 01/12/2015

I read that anyone can purchase Run Disney LE New Balance running shoes the day of the event. Anyone know if this is true? Where are they sold in WDW? People are selling them for $250 - $300 on ebay. Hope I can get a pair on event day, and hope they aren't that much!

The only place you can get the shoes so far is at the Expo which will be at World of Sports. Most likely they'll have a "virtual que" for the runners with a bib to sign up for. Perhaps at the end of the day they'll let non runners buy. But I'm not positive about that.

My family and myself are going on this cruise as well!! So excited as it will be our first cruise ever! It is also a SURPRISE for my husband and 2 daughters ages 9 and 12 for Christmas!

I think me and my husband would love that! My daughters can play in the kids clubs and we can have some date time! Any tips from previous cruisers is well appreciated.

This will our first cruise and my daughters are 11 and 8, will be 9 and 12 by the time the cruise rolls around. It is a surprise for them, but hoping they can make some friends to make their cruise even more special.

We are participating in the WDW marathon weekend and the Castaway challenge. We run the first Dopey this year, so just doing the half marathon. We are on the Delta 11;00 direct flight to LA on Friday to do the "rebel challenge" Sat. 10K, Sun. half marathon. This will be our 43rd Disney cruise. Started with the maiden voyage of Magic and we were hooked. We would like to participate with FEs . Thanks,

Hi!
I too am doing the Castaway Cay Challenge then heading to California for the Rebel Challenge. I am booked on Delta flight 1659. For those doing the same, what are your plans for getting from the cruise terminal to the airport?? It might be tight so I am hoping to make arrangements in advance to secure transportation.
How many in your party? We live in Central Florida, driving to the port, then driving to airport for the 11:00 Delta flight to LAX, then transportation to DL for rebel challenge. We plan on carrying luggage off ship and lining up early in atrium to be one of first guests off ship. Alex

I added your info onto the FE list and PMed you the link to update!

It's been a long time since I've checked in on here and WOW!! lots of activity! I didn't read through all 102 posts, so I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the FE groups. My crew and I would like to join a group. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance!!

Sent you a PM with the link and added a line for you! Feel free to update any/all details :)

Hello! My cousin Annie and I are on the 12-16 Jan 2015 Dream right after Marathon Weekend!! We are both over 40 (she's over 50!!!!) and we want to know if there will be other adult-only cruisers for Fish Extender gifts. We will also bring some for the kids we see, but I see great ideas for adults!! I'll be running Goofy, Annie is running the 1/2 at WDW, and I'm going to run the official Castaway Cay Challenge with the real bling medal, and Annie will do the regular 5K! Cannot WAIT for the cruise!!!

Joy

I added a line for you on the FE list and PMed you a link. Please update your info when you a get a chance! Thanks!

Better check your Delta flight, they've changed it to a 9am flight. There's an 11:30 am flight with a risky connection in Atlanta, ie less than 45 minutes, or you could get a refund and book another airline.

Has anybody heard anything else about the special perks that are supposed to be available for runners on this cruise? I know there was mention of special menus and of course merchandise...didn't know if there was anything else or if somebody had more info. :confused3

My friend, her six year old, myself, and my almost 5 year old will be cruising together. It is our first disney cruise and I am a little lost. I would love to get in on a FE list but am not sure how that works or what to do to make it happen. Any help or guidance would be awesome. Thanks!:confused3:goodvibes:)

Hey everyone the cruise date is getting closer!!! I know we are getting excited for this trip. We are doing a wedding on the ship on Nassau day! Look forward to meeting everyone!

Wanted to say "hi" to everyone! This will be my families 1st Disney cruise. We have been on many other cruise lines but have always heard Disney is the best so are VERY excited to go! :dance3:

It will be my husband & I, along with our 2 kids (DD - 8 & DS - 5) After the cruise we are going to WDW for a few days. My DD was there with us a few years ago but this will be my son's 1st time - so counting the days til then!:cheer2:

thanks so much and look forward to "meeting" you all!! :cool1:

I don't think they've posted anything more than that.

For those of us doing the Castaway Challenge, the medal was revealed. Read here.

Not sure why I hadn't thought about looking for a cruise meet thread, but today I did. I was looking something up for a different thread, and found out that Gay Days Anaheim will have a group on this cruise! If only my BIL and his wonderful sweetheart felt they could afford a Disney Cruise, I would soooo love it if they could book through GDA! I'm sad that they won't be there. :(

I don't mix FB with the Dis on purpose, so I wonder if there are any mixology spots left? I would love to take part in that.

I'm doing the Half and finally got DS and DH in on the 5K thanks to a travel provider, along with DS's Mickey Mile. I'm doing the CC5K, too.

I got it in (electronic)writing early on from rundisney that the normal CC5K will be run *in addition to* the special one. Especially since the normal one isn't actually a full 5K, it's good that they'll do both. And how awkward would it be for one group to get cool medals while the other group gets the plastic ones.

My husband and I will be on this cruise after I attempt to run the WDW Marathon. Signed up for the Castaway Cay Challenge 5k, too. This is my first Disney Cruise, and actually my first cruise of any kind! I've never participated in a FE group before, either! Any chance I could take part in that? Thank you!! :wave2:

My daughter and I will also be on this cruise. My daughter will be turning 18 on day 2! I had originally booked a Royal Caribbean Cruise for the two of us but after some serious consideration:confused3, I canceled that cruise and booked this one:banana:. My daughter does not know that I did that so she is going to be soooooooooo surprised:yay:. She has been begging me to go on a Disney cruise for so long. I am really looking forward to seeing her reaction when she sees what ship we are really going on.
As for the 5K, I will not be running in that, I will stand on the sidelines and cheer you all on:cheer2:. I would like to wish all of you that are running it a "Good Luck" in advance.
