I know that its all my fault, so please don't pile on....but I need help. I completely forgot to call priority seating to set up a meal at the Blue Bayou for our 1 day whirlwind with my parents, and of course the only times to eat were lunch at 3 or dinner or 8:30....ugh!

Now, I'm not certain what to do...dinner would be way to late with the munchkin, but that 3pm thing kind of goofs up the whole day.....

I want to take the folks somewhere "nice" and quintessentially Disney. Dad has never been to DL, and this is the 1st trip he's been able to take in a couple of years, as he had a lung transplant a year ago....ideas?

Are you looking for ideas of other restaurants or opinions on which PS to get?

Try Cafe Orleans! I made a PS yesterday for this Sunday and they were wide open. It's worth a shot!:confused3

What time do you plan on arriving in the morning? When we go on a 10:00 am open day we usually eat about 2 pm so 3:00 wouldn't be that bad. Also keep calling, someone might cancel. I love BB so I'd try to work it in if possible.

Some people prefer a later meal at the Blue Bayou, since it can bridge lunch and dinner, saving money. And you're safely in a restaurant during a time when the parks tend to be busier.

But Cafe Orleans sure looks like a nice place to eat to me. Good luck deciding!

My brother got a table on a Saturday in Ocotber, when it was pretty busy, by going to the podium at the BB at 11:00 and asking if they were taking any walk-ins. They were seated by 11:30. If you are dead set on eating there, I'd make the 3:00 PS, but try to get in earlier as a walk-in.

I actually think 3:00 might not be such a bad time on a whirlwind day-trip. BB is my favorite place to eat, as well, and it would be the one place I'd want to spend a chunk of time doing a sit down meal when only there one day. Since by 3:00, the park will be getting close to it's most crowded, you will be optimizing the entire part of the day prior to your meal to get to the attractions which will be most crowded from this point onward. This way, you can have some fun snacks to keep you going before the 3:00 sit down.

:thumbsup2 agree completely!

For what it's worth, we like Cafe Orleans better than BB. The atmosphere at BB is fabulous, but we like the food at Cafe Orleans better and let's face, we say we are 'thrifty' but the fact is, we are 'cheap' and $70 for the four of us after we include the pomme frittes & Mickey beneigttes (I know I didn't spell that right!) is a LOT better than $120+ for the 4 of us. DS is going to be 10 next year and you all know what that means -- 3 ADULTS as far as Disney is concerned! ugh! Anyway, we love Cafe Orleans! If you are trying to stay upscale, you could always try StoryTellers, you can usually get a PS for dinner there without too much trouble.

Another vote for this plan. BB is really special - you shouldn't miss it. And 3PM during the busiest part of the day sounds great to me!

3pm sounds perfect to me. Part of the "crowd-negotiation" of Disneyland is to do things when no one else is. If you are eating at 3pm, you are freeing up time for attractions and shows when other people are eating from 12-2pm. That's perfect.

Enjoy,
Dreams

Thanks all....I hadn't thought through the whole "it will avoid the crowd" in the park thing :goodvibes I was so focused on that its lunch at 3....something about forest and trees, no doubt! :rotfl2:

I took the 3, and we'll just have to have a churro late morning to tide us over...

Thanks for the alternate location suggestions. I think we really want to do BB, if only for the atmosphere....I'll let you'll know how it went when we get back.
