Drat. Covid.

Good luck.
All my family have now had it.....all vaccinated and those that could be boosted.
You just never know

I got it from when i was in disney two weeks ago, just coming out of it now :-(

Hopefully you escape it, it sucks!

Maybe you won't get it. My husband never got it when I was hacking and snotting all over the house with it back in April.

Now he's gone down to NC to visit his stepfather. Stepfather just tested positive this morning and my husband has been staying at his house for the past 4 days. We'll see if he escapes it again!

I just got out of isolation (so annoyed. I was so careful for 2.5 years, then I let my guard down a little. And bam.) Fortunately, nobody in my household caught it. We were all (including me) vaxxed and boosted. The illness itself wasn't too bad for me, but it was definitely very inconvenient.

My husband had Covid back in January. I never got it or at least I didn’t have any symptoms. I never bothered to get tested. I don’t work or go anywhere very often anyway.

Today is my first day out of isolation as well. Very inconvenient, but minor as far as illness goes. I was vaccinated and boosted. 2nd booster was 15 days prior to my positive test. Not happy that I got it, but grateful it was mild.

A month ago my husband and son had it, I slept in the same bed as my husband and didn’t get it. My other son had it two weeks ago as did my sister and nephew in the same vacation house. I drove home with my sister and didn’t get it. I’m sure round two will get me eventually.

Very interesting how spouses can be in the same bed and not get it. I had Covid beginning of June, he stayed with me, we never wore masks, although I did isolate from the rest of the household. Husband never got it! I was pretty sick, knocked me down for 10 days!

Maybe you'll be lucky. My aunt has cared for three different people who had COVID and didn't take great pains to protect herself, but she's never gotten it. It seems like some people might be lucky!

(I didn't want to chance it through, so when I tested positive, I moved myself to the futon in the basement so I wouldn't chance giving it to my husband. To be fair, that was as much "for me" as it was for him. He doesn't handle being sick very well. I'd rather have it myself multiple times instead of him having it once. He'll make BOTH of us miserable.)

For those who did not get it, and are/were in close proximity to someone who did - and if you did home testing --

A loved one tested about four people in this situation last year, all negative.

Since she had tons of tests she did it again with it pushed farther up into the cavity, all but one was indeed positive - including herself.

OP, hope you didn't catch it.

And.....

I love the word drat!

My daughter caught it and has been the only one to catch it so far in my family. She isolated herself for the 1st couple of days, and then came out to to the living room hang w/ us for the duration of her "isolation." She was the only one who wore a mask in the house. You just never know.

Same, man. Sucks. Tested positive on day 2 of a 4 day Disneyland stay. Came home early since we live 15 minutes away. Kids were devastated to miss the 4th celebrations in the parks. I've avoided it all this time, including last summer when my husband had it, but my luck ran out.

Wishing you a mild illness and hope you feel better quickly!

Oh wow sorry to hear about all that. I was thinking about it all this weekend and just how random it is (you can be in the house and sleeping with someone who has it and never get it and then go out to dinner or something where someone has it and BAM). Anyway, you were one of the people I was thinking about who had done all these things--was it DL four times??--and nothing! My uneducated theory on this is that there are those people who are superspreaders. We heard about them a lot in the beginning of COVID but not lately. I think many people get COVID and they just don't shed a lot. But there are those that just have some ability to shed and transmit. I think the guy in my office who infected 5 people on the same day was one of them!! But I somehow never spread it to my husband. And of the 5 people in my group who got it, we never spread it to anyone in our household. It's just weird.

Sorry OP. Hope your family member recovers quickly & if you get it you do too. My immediate family has avoided it for the most part too. Only my DD has had it, caught it from a coworker in February. She lives alone but spent the day my DH the day before her symptoms started. Some extended family have had it this year as well. All vaxed & boosted if eligible. All had moderate cold symptoms or less.

I am starting to feel it is inevitable my DH & I will get it. The only question is when & how bad will it be.
