Dramamine for free?

Some posters have reported that there is a basket outside of the medical center on Deck 1 which has free seasickness medication available. I stayed on Deck 1 on my cruise and did not see such a basket. Other posters have said they did not see it either.

Just to be on the safe side, I would bring some with you.

Happy sailing.

I don't know for sure, but just to be on the safe side, Wal-mart has it for $1.88 and worth every penny! My nephew had to have it before flying from NC to CA and took it again on the last day of our cruise. I bought the less drowsy dramamine and it worked well. :flower:

I start taking Bonine the night before we leave for the cruise, I take it once every day at night before I go to bed and I am fine the whole time...and I am someone who gets seasick easily...I've gotten seasick while snokling when I don't take the Bonine!

I have seen reports where the medical center does put out a basket, but it seems to be when the seas are very rough and there is more of a need for it to be handy!!!

Yes they do. We had to take our son to the ship doctor b/c of an ear and eye infection and there is a basket right outside the door that says they are free. Also if you go inside the medical facility there is another container with them and some advice/instructions.

Just know that dramamine can cause drowsiness. There are other things to use like the little patch behind the ear and the sea bands????

good luck!!!

And natural items such as green apples and ginger.

The "basket outside the door" contains chewable meclizine (Bonine) tablets which are less sedating than Dramamine, but are only recommended for those over the age of 12. The gift shops have kids Dramamine, but they are not always open.

My doctors (and my experience) have told me that it is best to come prepared. If you are prone to motion sickness take the recommended medication beginning the night before. If you are not especially susceptible, bring medication with you and take it at the first sign of trouble. If you can't keep it down, it won't help.

With younger children you never know. They seem to tell you less than 2 minutes before it's...too late. They do seem to recover quickly. ::MickeyMo
