Dragon under the castle

Hi

I have just been reading on the DLRPtoday website about the Dragon being re opened after its refurbishment!

I then started to read about the back story of the dragon as I always thought it was Maleficent that she had been captured and kept in the dungeon. Did any one else think this?

Apparently it isnt Maleficent it is a dragon from an egg that Merlin found and kept!

I don't know I still think Maleficent is a more believable story

I knew the tale about Merlin and the egg because I'd read it on a website before visiting for the first time but I can see why you thought it would be Maleficent ..... and you can see from that article that you're not the only one.

I'm looking forward to seeing the dragon again next summer.

Isabelle has always thought it was Maleficent - not sure I will be able to persuade her otherwise!

To me it will always be melifecent I just don't understand why Merlin would have adragon at sleepings beautys castle :/

I was actually told the Merlin story by one of the CM that works in his Magic Shop above a few years back. I like that version too.

Im excited that the refurb is finished in time for me going next month!

I always thought it was Maleficent too!

I suppose it makes sense, being under the Merlin shop (I can't remember it's proper name!).

Not quite sure which story I prefer, but either way I always enjoy visiting it.

We saw the dragon for the first time at Xmas. Kids loved it.

My 5th trip and I didn't even know about it until I read about it on these boards before we went.

According to reliable sources, it IS maleficent in her dragon form.

If you want a convincing evidence, take a look at the sign indicating the entrance of the cave. It bears Maleficent's horns.

As for the Merlin legend, I have no explanation, but sometimes a more beautiful legend is better (even if it's made up) is better than a "oh it's just a villain lurking down here, no big deal"
