Does any of you ever doubt yourself about going to the dr??:confused3

Ok...for about 5 weeks I had some major digestive stuff going on, some days worse then others. I mean it was bearable in the fact I still got up everyday, took care of the kids and household stuff, and laid down in between. No real pain so to speak, just other not fun stuff going on..Everyday of course, I thought it would get better. I wasnt sure where some of the pain/pressure was coming from . I started with my yrly female exam..all well in that area..Went to PCP, talked to her about stuff, and she refered me to gastro dr...I know a lot of my digestive stuff became worse with stress...Ok..seems once I started making the appts, I felt somewhat better:confused3..My gastro appt is May 10th...for the last 5 or 6 days, I actually feel back to normal..not 100%, like 95%...now I question myself do I still go? Wont I feel silly going to a specialist and all my syptoms have disappeared and everything back on track or "normal" so to speak?

So does anybody else ever doubt themselves in this sort of situation??:confused3

Yes! This happens to me too. I'm thinking, though, in your situation, the issue lasted for 5 weeks which is a long time to have gastro troubles, so go to the appointment.

I've been in the same boat for over a year, 'cept my issues haven't resolved, and two physicians I've seen about it don't feel there is anything they can do.

If I had another doctor willing to see me about it ;) I'd go. That's my recommendation to you.

Last year when I had strep, it took me a WEEK to go to the doctor. I kept insisting that I felt better...until I woke up one morning unable to breathe or swallow, felt like I had knives in my throat...I thought I was dying. That's when I called the doctor - almost had my mother take me to the ER first, though.

3 years ago, I had pneumonia...again, it took me almost a week to see a doctor. That was mainly because I didn't have a GP at the time and had to go to the walk-in clinic...which didn't accept my insurance.

Oh my goodness I always seem to be "cured" when my appt comes around! It's the same phenomenon that makes my hair look best on the day I'm getting it cut! I think you should go to your appt, though!

Definitely go!

Oh my goodness I always seem to be "cured" when my appt comes around! Then if I cancel it comes back! It's the same phenomenon that makes my hair look the best on the day I'm supposed to get it cut! I think you should go to your appt, though!

Isnt it odd how it works like that. Just like having car problems...you drive you car its making all sorts of funny, not normal noises. You take it in..and the car doesnt make any noise and the car mechanic is looking at you like you have 2 heads;)

All. the. Time. I hate going to the doctor, so it takes a lot for me to make the appointment (once or twice a year). Then, whatever is wrong is always "a virus".

Sore Throat and Pink Eyes with Alien Ooze coming out--it's a virus.
Broken Leg--it's a virus.
Arm severed off at the elbow--it's a virus.
