WEll, My eye is now closed, three more skin graffts to get enough there to not stretch it to be shut,, took about 2 hours in surgery, and i was awake,, ( sort of) was able to talk to surgeon as he worked and explained what we were doing. They are going to want to wait around a year to start trying any new recunstruction, acccording to them the muscles and nerves are so badly damaged from the repeated surgery over the last 8 months that it will take at least 6 to 8 months before they heal back to a point we can tell whats what and what needs done. i dont really like that idea of being with out the eye, but at least they have a solid reasoning behind waiting and he isnt ready to drop it , he just wants to be sure whats going to heal will, we are going to have another surgery towards the end of august to remove the tissue expander, and then after that the entire teams going into a holding pattern till everything that will heal has had time to heal, up to a full year. He said they will dfo regular check ups to see how things are proigresing just not any major surgerys to try and rebuild. Thank you all for the prayers and pixie dustings, It really makes the thought of waiting a full year easier knowing i have people that are cheeering me on and that i can count on to make me feel better and laugh
