I used to watch Dr Phil all the time, but not so much anymore. What about you guys - do you watch Phil? Do you HATE Dr. Phil? Truthfully, though I used to watch him, I now think hes a jack-a$$, so I would never waiste another minute watching his show again.

Opinions??? Thoughts???

I can take him or leave him. But I usually leave him.

And remember people, "it's not about yooouuu!".

Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit it, but I like him. :upsidedow I used to watch him all of the time, but it's been a long time since I have watched a show.

Hate him, but not as much as I hated Dr. Laura (remember her? :lmao:).She was mean and exploitative. He's just exploitative.

Back when Oprah had him on as a regular, he was a breath of fresh air. The freshness didn't last. I don't watch much tv as it is and I haven't seen Dr. Phil since a few months after he got his own show. I really didn't like him promoting his family. I have no idea what he is up to now.

I use to watch his show and really enjoyed it......then it took a major nose dive. Obviously there was a huge push to make the show more sensational. It's like watching Maury or any other trashy show out there. I can't believe how much it's changed and I have not watched it in years.

I can take him or leave him. There is just something about him and his wife that just screams fake to me. I can't get past that

Ditto. The day he started with the "houses" was the jump the shark for me.
I will tune in rarely, I don't hate him, I just do not enjoy watching him anymore.

I used to watch him on a daily basis but then this season I wasn't too thrilled with him and then I completely lost all respect when he did daily coverage on Octomom.
At that point he was no better then all of the paparazzi, just because he said that he was "helping" doesn't mean that he wasn't exploiting the situation just like the rest of the tabloids.

I used to watch him - when he first got his own show.. Over time though things have changed - he's become irritating and (for lack of a better word) "explotive".. As someone else pointed out, his show is becoming more about sensationalizing situations rather than actually being helpful..

Once in a blue moon he has a decent show - but unless the t.v. happens to be on - and on that channel - I certainly don't "seek" him out..

I'm more "leave 'em" than "take 'em or leave 'em" - if that makes sense..;)

I used to like him on Oprah but I think his 15 minutes of fame is up. I don't like the way he portrays his wife and family like they're so perfect. And, I stopped watching him when he stopped solving problems during the show and referred everyone to counselling.

I think the show that finished off my respect for the good doctor was when he had on a witchy fiancee and her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law refused to apologize for poor behaviour and the fiancee refused to forgive the mother-in-law for bad behaviour. The fiancee treated the MIL terribly. Dr. Phil had them on twice and still couldn't make headway in the situation. Then I realized that Dr. Phil was just another show like all the rest of the talk shows.

Wow, did I HATE Dr. Laura. I don't HATE Dr. Phil but he hits me as an obnoxious machismo pig. Unlike Dr. Laura I somewhat AGREE with his stand most of the time, Dr Laura...ugh... NEVER!! :scared:

What gets me about him is he has a compulsive need to be right all the time. Nobody's right all the time. Also, a lot of the people have problems that are much more complex than can be wrapped up in an hour.

I used to like him, but not that much anymore. He always has to have the last word and it seems that he badgers one person while not seeing another side to it. Some cases, I do agree with him, like a guy who kept cheating on his wife but on the other hand there are other cases when I am like "She was talking to you about her problem, don't interupt her!" I think that the problems these people have needs more then 46 (I'm putting in commercials) to solve things out. Recently I cannot stand his shows where he puts the latest crime of murder/kidnapping on target, it seems kind of sensationalist.

i used to love dr. phil, now i only watch occasionally. the show has definitely taken a sensationalistic turn. it used to be about helping people, now it's just about grabbing ratings.

Hate is a strong word that I wouldn't waste on him, but I will say that he annoys me and I think he is an awful excuse for a man :(

I always found him annoying and arrogant, but that stunt he pulled last year trying to capitalize on Britney Spears' mental breakdown was just downright disgusting-that man ought to be ashamed of himself:sad2:

i really really hate how he likes to pretend to be a therapist but breaks every ethical rule in the book.

I haven't watched his show in a longg time, but when I would catch it..I liked him.

Me and my mom use his phrase 'Ya think?" all the time....lol
