Dr. Jones and the Spitting Camel - Link to Alaska Cruise TR 9/18

Oh my! I have never wanted to eat at Raglan Road but after reading your review, I really, really, really want to try it! You make it sound out-of-this-world!

Great pictures of the family and you and Julie! So nice that you were able to have dinner together.

Disney Quest sounds like a lot of fun!

If we are ever in the World at the same, we will meet for drinks at Raglan Road. Michael and I loved it too and want to go back during our December trip. We also thought the food and atmosphere were excellent. :thumbsup2 I mean beer, grub, and pictures of Bono all over the joint? :cloud9:

Ger's bread pudding is better than 'Ohana's? I must have a taste test! I am a giver like that. :hippie:

It's funny, I just checked allears, which I hadn't before the trip to see how they rated it. It's coming in at an 8.3 so pretty high. I found it to be a great resource and a little more objective at times. Somewhat irrelevant since I clearly didn't look at it. :rotfl:

I'd go there just for the bread pudding. Seriously. And those mussels. Sigh. I don't think the rest of my family was quite as over the moon as I was but they did really enjoy it and if you could see the entertainment from where you were sitting, it would have been perfect.

Charles and Conor would like DQ. I'm glad we at least checked it out.

My son with his WP& M passes spent a lot of time at DQ. He loved it. I can take it in small doses, sensory overload is right.

My Dh can't spin so the virtual reality stuff was out.

Raglan Road was on my list in Sept but I cancelled it. My son can be a picky eater especially with just getting him to try new places so I opted for O'hana which he has tried before.

I'm so in!

Ah..Bono! :cloud9: though I have a major soft spot for The Edge.

at a minimum, it's equal. I think that comes down to personal preference and I'd rather have a creme anglaise/bourbon or whisky bread pudding over a banana foster rum sauce one. Both are amazing

when Doug was going we'd thought it would be perfect for him to take the kids to it, or just Taylor as it is far more up his alley than ours but in small does it's ok. I would try the virtual reality ones if I ever go back.

Yeah, if you have a picky eater it's not best unless they like fish and chips. There is a burger but it's definitely not "plain" although I'm sure you could get it that way. A lot of people love the "it's not bleeding chowder", I think that's what Cherie had.

You know who has the best bread pudding? It's made fresh daily (I know because I worked there many moons ago and have friends who work there currently)? Mimi's Cafe. I know, I know. It's just a step or two up from Denny's but their bread pudding is amazing. It has a whiskey butter sauce that is so smooth and rich.

I love all the members of U2 but I am pretty sure, if given the chance, Bono would write a nice song about me when it was over. ;)

I've never even heard of it...but if I am ever somewhere that has one, I'll have to go in and try the bread pudding! I have a killer bourbon sauce recipe and the bread pudding that goes with it isn't too shabby either.

Yay an update!! Sorry life has been so crazy & about the trouble you've been having problems with your "friends"! How annoying!!

Ragand Road looks fantastic!! I'm glad you had such a nice time with your friend & her mom. What a fun place to meet up! The entertainment looks really cool - sorry you missed it, but I'm sure you'll be back.

I'm so on the fence about DQ... It sounds like it's geared for teenagers & the boys would be too young, especially Zach. :confused3 I"m sure we'll make it there one of these days. I'll have to research it a bit more...

Can't wait to hear if you made rope drop & got to ride TSM!! popcorn::

those built your own cars looked pretty cool and i can see why they are expensive they look pretty involved.

i bet parker would love thos when he gets a little bigger.

Well the crazy life stuff is pretty normal, I can't say it's out of the ordinary, it just makes updating and keeping up here hard at times. :rotfl:

On the friend part....they aren't really my friends per-se. They are our den leaders and the parents of one of Eric's very good friends so I do have to interact with them quite a bit. I just realized that there is another meeting this weekend and I really don't want to go!

it was yummy! what I could hear of the music was fabulous and really added to the experience!

DQ is fine for the boys ages but it is a bit of sensory overload for sure!

the nice thing is at his age, he'd be happy with the non-remote version! They are cool.

I haven't made bread pudding, is it difficult?

;)

no, not at all.

Ive made Emeril's before and it's quite good

Bread Pudding

This has the pudding and whipped spice cream topping recipies

Bourbon Sauce
You pour it over the servings and then put the cream on top. It's referenced in the first recipe but for some reason was a separate link that I had to dig up.

Mmmmmm RR looks so yummy!!! I can't wait to eat there now. Especially after seeing all of the beer choices on tap!! :rotfl2: Yes, ME that is Boddington's on the far right ;) I was laughing because the first picture of the bar you can't read all of the selections....I was thinking oh I wish it was closer so I could see them...it was like you read my mind!! I can't wait to get the bread pudding!!!
Okay that Cooper cracks me up!!! Ummm mine doesn't look anything like that!!
I didn't realize there was so much to do in DTD besides shop. Just kidding!!
Did I mention how good that bread pudding looked? ;)

I hope not, unless you are a toy! :rotfl: they are cute though.

Travel safe and have a GREAT trip! And a slushie for me :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a lovely dinner at Raglan. We ate there last October and had a great meal. I ordered the muscles too and they were phenomenal!!!! Here is my pic and you can steal it if you want! ;)

We ended up sitting outside.. somehow? It was about 90 degrees but we had a great view of the balloon going up.

We are eating at Raglan again in December!

Looks like you guys had a good time in DQ. Too bad you got there on the later side. There seems to be some neat rides in there. I think they have a rollercoaster ride where you make your own virtual coaster then are able to 'ride' it.

I'm curious to see how much the cars from Ridemakerz cost ya. :confused3

I do know the feeling of being with people who just bring you down. You want to be loving, and it is so very hard. Yet, that is what we're called to do. Hang in there!!

I really wanted to try Raglan this time too, but opted for something else. Next time, for sure!! I totally would have gotten those mussels as well! They look divine!

FANTASTIC update, Cynthia. Absolutely worth waiting for!

Hope your cat is ok. It is so difficut when you don't know what is wrong and he can't tell you.

Boo! on the judgemental den leaders. I've been going through issues with my son's flag football coach- not all of the kids are getting the playing time required and I had to speak to him this week (wow, that sounds whiny, but last week's game was unbearable, bad attitudes and unacceptable behavior and language). Coach seemed to understand what I was telling him so we will see how today's game goes.

What play are you performing? When are the shows? My boys are in rehearsal for Schoolhouse Rock Live. They did Peter Pan in the spring.

Ok, onto your report.

What a wonderful dinner with your friend- great company, great food, great atmosphere. My aunt and cousin had Captain Jack's at DTD booked last month and I convinced them to change to Ragland Road and they really enjoyed it, but I have never personally been interested in going there. Until I read your review. It sounds amazing!

My 9 year old loves mussels and would totally order what you got. I guess it's a "good" thing that he will be an adult in Disney years next time we go. Are mussels readily available where you live? I am just a few miles from the coast and I love that you can buy a 2 lb. bag of mussels for $5.

Thanks for sharing the info about Ridemakerz- I have never heard of it.

I am not a huge fan of DQ. We went a couple of times last year, and sensory overload is the best way to describe it. The Pirates of the Caribbean virtual game was fantastic, the Jungle Cruise was really difficult for my boys- steering/rowing the raft was not easy, and the Buzz Lightyear thing gave me whiplash. But the worst thing was the behavior of the other guests. There is no time limit for the games, so you can be waiting to use something, and you are at the mercy of the person who is currently using the game to be willing to stop playing. I even had a family try to cut my son and get onto a game he had been waiting for 15 minutes to play when the person playing it finally left. I don't think so!!!

Good luck on the early morning wakeup, but I'm betting against making rope drop, hope you prove me wrong!

My son did Schoolhouse Rock last year - (he was the Bill). But what I really want to ask is - is there a song in it about Circulation? There was when our kids did it, but it looked kind of out of place, but I think they added it so this one boy who wears leg braces and is a huge Elvis fan, could be in it. They stood him up on a box in his Elvis costume and they sang about Circulation while the were circling around him, and he was doing his Elvis moves. :rotfl: It was cute, and I love that he is as involved in stuff as he is, but it just didn't seem to fit with the little storyline. (Or maybe it just sounded awkward because of the logistics of getting Clayton in place :confused3)
