Dr. Doom's Fearfall is this ride like the Tower of Terror in that it falls part way
down then stops and falls some more or does this ride fall straight down without stopping?

Yup, it launches you up, you get a bit of airtime at the top, come back down, then it's just gentle bounces back down. The entire ride, launch to harness release is a little less than a minute.

I love it, that initial rush going up is great, and the view is awesome from up there :thumbsup2

+It's still the one ride I can't talk my better half into :confused3

This ride is much milder then Tower or Terror. It looks high, but you don't go all the way to the bottom. It is over before it even starts.

Still a great thrill ride!

Interesting, really, as it's all in the perspective! To me, TOT is milder. I would ride TOT over and over again. Maybe it's because you are inside? I love the drops... Fearfall--that launch scared the beegeebies out of me. I nearly peed my pants. I screamed like a school girl. I thought for sure I was going to be launched into space. I didn't anticipate the launch to be so intense. I wouldn't care if I never got on it again! My 10 year old son, on the other hand, thought it was a baby ride. He was very disappointed by how quickly it was over.

The difference, really, is between being dropped and being launched.

I never really cared for Dr Doom but youngest DS was 9 when he first rode it and he loves it and now throws a fit if he can't ride it when we go to Universal

Me personally, I would love if after the first launch, when you come back down, it would launch you again, and then maybe a third time! :scared1:

:scared: :lmao: :lmao:

I think I understand now. So the thrill part of this ride is in the launch up to the top and not in the drop down like on Tower of Terror. The launch up is fast but the drop down is slow and bounces down. I think I may be able to handle this ride but if it dropped straight down that I could not do.

That would be awesome. Now if they would just build two more towers...

Well by my screen name I obviously like this ride A LOT,I love the rush of the launch, how you get lifted off the seat and the views at the top.I also love TOT,obviously much more themed, ride lasts longer and for me the drops aren't that bad especially since it's indoors. Both these rides in my opinion are VERY FUN and I don't get scared at all on either one,I would say DOOM'S launch is a bit more intense than TOT'S drops. Now one ride that I do get very nervous on are the drop rides you find at amusement parks outside like Acrophobia at Six Flags over Georgia, where you get taken up slowly to 200ft in the air,sit up there for a couple of seconds and then the drop is pretty intense as well.Neither TOT or DOOM are you seeing yourself 20 stories up for a while,I guess I'm a bit scared of heights!!

I took the ride as your son did! My son would not get on it but got on TOT. :rotfl: Guess maybe we need to swap kids:rotfl: I am doing them both again this year!
