DP vs. DxDP, prices and other questions

Are the prices of the different dining plans listed anywhere?? I played around with package reservations and it looks like for my family of 5 (3 adult/2 kids) the dining plan would cost me approx. $1300 and the deluxe would cost $2250. Does that sound about right??

$950 seems like such a big difference - trying to figure out if it is worth it to do the number of table service meals I would like to (have lots of ADRs but will cut some out if we don't do deluxe).

Two other questions... 1 - does the fantasmic package take 2 credits? 2 - on the deluxe plan does each person get a refillable mug?

Over $2,000 on food just seems like A LOT of money!! Is it worth it???

At the top of this page is a sticky for the 2011 dining plans with the prices for the various plans listed. If you're debating betwee the DDP and the DxDDP the general consensus is the plan pays for itself if 2/3 of the credits are TS.

For the Fantasmic Dining Pkg H&V and Mama Melrose are 1 credit and Brown Derby is 2 credits.

DxDDP and QS plans include a refillable mug for each person.

8 nights? (That's what I get from some quick back-of-the envelope numbers.)

That works out to a bit less than $120/night extra. For that $120 you'd get one extra meal per person per night, plus you can do all TS instead of CS if you like. In addition, you'd get appetizers (for the "adults", which includes your oldest child) at menu service lunches and dinners. And the mugs.

If you're really wanting to do 3 meals a day, and at least two of them as sit-down, DxDP is likely to prove the better choice. If you want fewer meals or more CS, I'd suggest sticking with basic DDP (use the credits on the most expensive options) and pay the extra OOP.
