Just went in Dec 05 with (2) 9yr olds on the DP. It was great. They didn't eat off the kids menus at counter services. They ordered whatever they wanted, be it a cheeseburger or a personal pizza or chicken nuggets. At table service restaurants it depended on the restaurant.
We did breakfast buffets so it wasn't a problem they ate til they were stuffed (we did 3 of these) we had 1 lunch at Le Celliar and even though they ordered off the kids menu for their entrees they were allowed to choose their appetizer off the adult menu.
We had dinner at Wilderness Lodge and they ordered what they wanted off the kids menu and got to have some of DH and mine's salad, along with the bottomless milkshake.
We did dinner at LTT which was all you can eat and Tony's where they also ordered off the kids menu for their entree but off the adult menu for the appetizer.
We also used the snacks for icecream bars

and drinks in the parks. We ended up using the last 3 snacks for rice crispy bars at the resort to bring home with us and ended up not using 13 counter service allowances. That sounds like a waste of the DP but we only spent around $700 on the plan and have receipts totalling almost $1300 for all meals and snacks so IMHO the DP is well worth the cost.
