according to the disney wedding site you can have
1. French island
2. Italy Isola
3. UK Lower terrace

HOWEVER ... I know some have had it at Morocco and maybe other places.

So where can you have the Illuminations DP now?

we had uk lower and it was great, we are still having conversations with our guest on how great it was.

I think Morocco is for the Escape brides but they may allow wishes brides to go there although I think you will need a small group since I don't think there is much space. I am having my DP in the UK lower area and when I did a site visit I loved it. My sales manager said its the only location where you have a view of just about every country. :thumbsup2

Sarah - i'm checking you tr everyday as I want to read what it was like ... i have so long to wait as your only on yoru rehersal day he he

I have to admit, the only real reason I wasnt looking at UK was because of where I come from - however, from what you are bot saying it may be VERY worthwhile to read more on it

only 1 more day to go!!!! and then its wedding day

The DP sites in Epcot are (new names in parentheses)

UK Upper (UK Terrace)
UK Lower (UK Lochside)

French Island Upper (Terrace des Fleurs)
French Island Lower (Eau de France)
French Island Arm (Rue de Paris)

Morocco Oasis, which holds 20-60 guests and is usually for Escape weddings
Japan Pavilion, which holds 10 max

Italy Isola
Italy West Plaza

Pictures can be found here, and I also just posted some in my trip report.

OMG!!!! Sarah-those DP pictures are beautiful!!!! Can't wait to see more!!!

Carrie, I have already told you before but I will say it again, LOVE the pics!!!

Sarah, those pics are AMAZING!!!

Does anyone have any pictures of the view of IllumiNations / the lagoon from the French Island Arm?

My concern about Morocco is there is an island of trees that seem to block the view a fair bit, but I only have a few days left to try and make a decision.

There will be 12 of us, I presume we are allowed the French Island Arm? I think I started this conversation once before, but never got as far as any photos from anyone, so please help if you can :grouphug:

If you go here:

... the second from the last picture is of French Island Arm. As I recall, that island you see is the one that blocks the view from Morocco, but it is not in the line-of-sight to the fireworks from France...

Whether or not you can use this location for an Escape wedding seems to depend on the planner you talk to - and on whether a convention already has it booked.

We just can't decide between UK Upper, French Island Arm or Morocco!!

Morocco is very pretty, but it does have that solid wall, and the islands look like they might be in the way of the globe or fireworks

French Island Arm might not be offered as an option..

UK Upper has the advantage of already having the tables and chairs, but is the view good from here with it being set further back? And is this defo an option for 12 of us?

Come on ladies, help me make a choice, give me your recommendations on this!!:thumbsup2

Oh Sarah, that black and white pic is gorgeous - right click save as you get an example - hope you dont mind ;)

UK Upper is definitely preferred by most people over Morocco. And I've seen more Escape Brides get to use it than use French Island Arm.

It's hardly that much further back from the action than UK Lower, and it doesn't have the island blocking the view like Morocco. Plus, the UK in general is a really popular place for day guests to view IllumiNations, so I don't think you can go wrong.

Simon now seems to be leaning towards this now, so I think this will be the location we try for.

Can you still get tablecloths etc here do you know, as aren't there parasols on the tables, so the cloth would have to have a big hole on the middle? :lmao: Hmmm I need to go and investigate what these tables and chairs look like I think, and we'll only need 3 tables so I wonder how many there are up there.......

Oh and Racey, I am SO sorry for completely hijacking your thread, but this is something I've been on the fence about for a while, and thanks to your thread we may have a decision, so thank you!

That's the main reason why i hopefully will be using that location... bring all my guests over to Florida to have dinner in an English Pub location... classic!

Hi Meryll hun,

Sorry i dont have any pics to offer up but i had dinner on the UK Upper Terrace last Thursday... The view is slightly blocked by the gazebo type roof if you stay seated, well i say blocked, you can see the world in full view when seated and the fireworks going up, you just cant watch them go the whole way up in the sky but if you stood right at the balcony im pretty sure you could watch them go the whole way up... we were eating dinner at the time so i didnt get up lol

The only other thing was because it was raining the smoke from the fireworks lingered and it did feel pretty smokey on the terrace but that's something that cant be helped... i will be going for UK lower but you will definitely get a great view from the Upper... hope that helps a little?

Hmmm... UK Upper does not have a roof... Nicola - is this where you sat?

That's UK Upper. There are seven tables there which can't be moved. If you look in JaxTeach's trip report, maybe her pictures show whether they can put tablecloths on those umbrella table. I was told the umbrellas can't be removed....

Who do you talk to about getting a DP? Do you have to talk to your WP or is there someone else you can talk to? Not too thrilled on the speed of my wedding planner's responses so I'm just wondering if there is someone else I can talk to! Thanks for the help! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness.....that pic of the UK is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! Were you allowed to hang around after the DP to take this? Also I can't remember from your PJ - who was your photographer? Whoever it was gave you some great pics!

P.S. Really enjoying your TR :thumbsup2
