After reading alot of DP posts I am starting to get discouraged. My budget for it is 2,000.00 for about 25 people (most with park tickets), is this realistic? I'm having an escape wedding and for most people the planners seem to have shoved you into Morocco and automatically added the transportation plus the 90.00 escort plus taxes and fees.....it just seems never ending. Can it be done? I'm losing hope.

I think it can def be done for 25 people for 2k!

Set up fee 75
menu for 25 (28$ per person) = 700
view fee25 people x 13$= 325
site fee= about 350?

we are at 1450, plus transportation. Some people have been able to do 2 vans instead of a motorcoach which ends up costing a bit less

Places you can cut $$- food= only needs to be 22 per person
Some may not need the view fee
Some locs are less than 350

I also didnt facotr in any decorations, but i really dont think you need them, your only there for an hour. Am I missing anything?

ya, then there is a 21% gratuity added to each person plus 6% tax! do you know if you HAVE to transfer all of your guests via disney vans? Can I just pay for 1 for the bridal party and everyone else can monorail their way over?

I think the only people that you have to have transportation for is yourself (if in wedding gown) and anyone that needs park tickets. We only had 11 people but his family (had park tickets) met us at Morrocco and my faimily(no park tickets) rode with us backstage.

Ours was $2,033, but it was for 34 people and it included a $%&#^* 4-hour motorcoach to transport everyone. Eight of our people had park admission.

There's a thread going right now about DPs that talks about using vans to transport people instead of the motor coach. Also, you really don't have to transport your guests if you think they're savvy enough to find their own way to the International gateway.

Alternatively, a Sago Cay DP at the Grand Floridian during Wishes can be a lot cheaper (if you don't pay the $800 to have the music piped in). There is no site fee, and there are no viewing fees or transportation requirements. There's just the $500 food and beverage minimum and a set-up fee. Heck - say you spend $30/person on food and beverage, you could even add in the Wishes music and still be at $1625 (before service charge and tax).

ours was around 1500 for 18, all had tickets and we had a round trip bus so it dropped off at one point and picked up at one point

How many people minimum do you need to have to make SURE one doesn't end up in Morocco for a DP?

800.00 ***?!?! that is crazy! But it is also an option. I'm glad that yours was only a little over 2K that gives m hope.

I think it is over 20, you can technically go to UK upper or lower, and the french island arm, but if you have between 20-30 the planners seem to only be offering Morocco. They want to keep the other places open for people with closer to 50. Every planner seems to be different though, you can never really tell what they will and wont let you book. :confused3

Would that be too cheap?? Just renting one bus for 120.00 for me and everyone with no park ticket, (I don't see there being more than 7). and telling everyone else to go through the main entrance and meet me wherever. My bridesmaids are wearing normal short blue dresses. nothing long and fancy..will they be able to walk through epcot? what about the guys in their suits?

I think you could totally do a DP for under 2k. We had ours at the GF marina and went over 2K by a little, but that was for 50 people and had an open bar.

If your guests have park tickets you can just tell them where to meet you. Its the people that don't have tickets that have to find their way to the International Gateway.

Here's our breakdown (but we only have 20 peeps). And can I just say, I don't understand why everyone has to be so down on the Morocco location...so, there's a wall...everyone stands up to see the fireworks anyway...I'm talked to a number of people who have had their DP's there or have been to one and everyone said it was great..

Anyway-
Venue fee w/tax 213.00
food ($23pp)w/tax 592.78
signature drinkw/tax 335.05
set up fee w/tax 79.88
bartender fee w/tax 106.50
BOC estimated right now w/tax 167.52
1 charter sedan (for us and two others) 120.00
2 one way van charters 50.00

floral 102.00

total:$1766.73

All of our guests have tix, so that helps also...

OH! So the only reason we're even getting the vans is we won't have time to get everyone over from Jiko from dinner otherwise, we only have time for 1 trip over...and I have to be delivered backstage because I'm wearing my dress, so everyone is entering from backstage even though they have tickets anyway...

HTH!:goodvibes

thanks ellebren...that is good info. for the GF marina did you pay to have the wishes music? How was the view?

If your BM's are in their dresses and the guys are in suits, there should be NO problem with them walking through the park. I've seen some people very dressed up just to go out to dinner in EPCOT.

I don't think it would be too cheap if you just got a van to transport yourself and whichever guests don't have park tickets...I think that's what most of us would do. (That's what I would do anyway):rotfl:

haha good! now i feel better! :rotfl2:

We didn't have the music piped in but the fireworks view was amazing. Part of the reason we chose not to have it at EPCOT was that we had a semi early wedding the next day, not having to have to pay the viewing fee and not having the bus.

I also agree your bridesmaids and groomsmen should not have an issue, I too have seen people dressed up for dinner as well.
